Battleship Pretension is a podcast that represents the kind of conversations that film geeks have when they get together. There are strong opinions, in-jokes, obscure references, and wild tangents. And, since Tyler and David are two of the sharpest wits ever fused together, there are laughs aplenty.

Passion. Humor. Charisma
Easily my favorite movie talking duo. These guys have such a transparent love of cinema and Los Angeles. You leave each episode richer.
Used to love it but...
Long-time listener, loved the show and have spent many enjoyable hours listening. But giving it up, just tired of increasingly being subjected to David’s endless self-righteous and ill-informed rants. Get some humility man, you know very little, other people can have valid points of view!
The best podcast about movies
I’ve been listening since 2010. The way this podcast - and its hosts - has matured and changed over the years has been a fascinating journey. David’s and Tyler’s reverence for the art form of cinema (in all its triumphs and shortcomings) is expressed through an interesting examination of topics, themes, genres, guest interviews, and filmmaker profiles. As a lifelong cinephile myself, I always look forward to their range and depth each week.
