But wedding planning can be the most stressful time in any relationship — families collide, personalities clash, and wallets empty even before your mother-in-law adds her entire bridge club to the invite list. Good thing Betches’ bride guide is in the house. Each week, Fallon Carter — one of the nation’s top wedding planners — guides a real Betches Bride in need of advice, empathy, and laughter through their nuptial nerves, and invites expert friends on the podcast to dig deeper into our brides’ biggest problem areas.

Your Bride Guide To A Destination Wedding

Your Bride Guide To A Destination Wedding

Location, location, location. On this month's Bride Guide, Fallon shares everything brides should be doing before committing to a destination and, especially, a venue. She also answers the age-old question: Can I really pull off a destination wedding for less money? Then, she answers your emails about clashing with a venue manager after hiring a month-of coordinator, orchestrating a sendoff from a hotel ballroom, and prioritizing the reception over the afterparty.

Assume Every RSVP Will Be A “Yes”

We’re kicking off Hispanic Heritage Month with Stephanie Rodriguez, our RBB with a Mexican-meets-Indian wedding in Mexico City. As she plans a destination wedding that also blends two rich cultures, she faces a unique set of challenges. How can she avoid burnout when her wedding is a four-day affair? How will she (and her budget) handle 100 extra guests than anticipated? After Fallon provides her expert opinion, she brings on yet another expert, wedding planner Jaz who specializes in Latino and multi-ethnic weddings, to talk about the guest experience when 25% of them don't speak English and a playlist that resonates with all 400 guests.

Can I Give My Wedding Guests A Color Scheme?

Can I Give My Wedding Guests A Color Scheme?

Mila White returns to the podcast, once again, to recap her “perfect” wedding with Fallon. She shares the choices she made that she’d make all over again, like spending a portion of her morning alone and having a day-of content creator who gave her & her husband the opportunity to see their wedding from a guest's POV. Then, she and Fallon answer a listener’s question about wanting to enforce a color-specific dress code, but being met with opposition from friends and family. They wrap up the episode with a game of I Do or I Don’t, and spoiler alert: no one's using their 2010 Pinterest board for their current-day wedding.

Trust Your Gut, Not Your FYP

Trust Your Gut, Not Your FYP

Comedian & Content Creator, Shannon Fiedler, joins Fallon this week fresh off her wedding and even fresher off her honeymoon. She reflects back on her planning process, including what she did right, what she recommends all brides do, and how much — or ironically, how little — social media influenced her overall vision. Then, she and Fallon play a few rounds of Date, Marry, Ditch, and answer your questions about using wedding hashtags and spamming your followers with wedding content. How much is too much? Last but not least, they make a case for locking away your phone on your wedding day.

Set Up Your Month-Of-Coordinator For Success

Set Up Your Month-Of-Coordinator For Success

This week, RBB Kaitlyn Jauregui joins the podcast to pick Fallon’s brain. Not only have her parents and her fiancé’s parents never met before, but his parents are divorced and have demanded to be shown around Miami... separately. Fallon gives Kaitlyn advice on navigating the sticky situation between her soon-to-be in-laws, as well as adequately expressing gratitude for all the guests who will be flying in for the wedding. Expert Lauren Schaefer, founder of The Get Together Events Co., steps in with a checklist that’s as much for Kaitlyn as it is for her month-of coordinator. Lauren also shares an exercise that, coupled with the month-of coordinator, should help Kaitlyn and her fiancé stay present in the last month of their engagement.

How Much Should I Tip My Vendors?

How Much Should I Tip My Vendors?

This week, Fallon is joined by yet another Betches team member, Ally Scelzo. As an August 2023 bride, she shares what she’s most excited to see IRL and what anxieties still remain, especially without a wedding planner or month-of coordinator to oversee on the day-of. She asks Fallon about tipping etiquette — what’s appropriate per vendor? — and making the guest book unique to them as a couple. Then, the duo get into your listener questions, from one young bride who doesn’t feel like she’s being taken seriously by vendors to another (destination) bride on the hunt for affordable hotel rooms for her guests.

New format & Fallon is a breath of fresh air

I like the format of having Real Betches Brides (RBBs), but I also think listeners could benefit from hearing success stories of past brides. For instance I think the theme of the May 22nd on “eloping” was the best example. The RBB is actually having a microwedding — not an elopement. Elopements are typically secret and announced after the fact, but after listening, to the RBB discuss her plans, hers will clearly be a microwedding since it hasn’t taken place yet and she’s planning to host guests. We could’ve benefited from a hearing the success of an actual elopement if that’s the theme that Betches wanted to focus on. Also, it was strange to hear the RBB talk down on wedding planning (and decide to “elope” because of that, despite her clearly not eloping and having a microwedding), since that’s what the podcast focuses on. ——— The new host, Fallon, is a breath of fresh air and brings first-hand knowledge and experience as a wedding planner herself. Despite making the comment about $2K per wedding guest as a previous guest on the pod (hopefully that gets cleared up at some point), I’m optimistic about what Fallon will bring from the first episode alone. She makes it conversational, while also offering helpful advice. She also adds her charm with the new format of interviewing your every day bride (READ: not influencer bride) that are in the process of wedding planning. I couldn’t say the same for the previous host. Fallon is the enthusiasm and knowledge that this podcast was lacking.

Old episodes are great

I loved the old episodes with Taylor, Nicole, and Jordana! The episodes were pointed on topics, but I felt that I got something out of most episodes even if it was just entertainment and feeling less alone in the wedding planning process.

I initially thought Fallon had a lot of potential as a great host, but I’ve found her to be very judgey and definitive about certain ideas and many are just plain wrong. Additionally, the new format is boring, and most weeks go by where I’m disappointed by yet another week focusing on a topic that has no relevance to me. Bring back the format including a Betches personality, or better yet more than one!

Fallon makes the pod!

Love the new(ish) format and host. Fallon is fantastic - an expert and great energy. I’d love to learn more about her experience as an entrepreneur too.
