Each episode so far starts with a bit of intriguing historical tape, a scene, an event, followed by host Jane Perlez engaging a key participant in, or observer of, said event in a sharp, in-depth conversation. Finally, Perlez asks historian Rana Mitter to unpack and interpret the core interview. The result for the listener is an invaluable package of perspective on the roots of the growing tensions between the US & China.
