I graduated from Cal State LA in 1988. Edward James Olmos was our speaker. It was hot that June day. He spoke for 40 minutes. The only thing I remember him telling was extolling the virtues of not chasing the almighty dollar. He was starring in Miami Vice making a pretty decent salary. Those of us in the Social Work dept smirked at the irony of his statement. At the 40 minute mark someone down front yelled up to him that he should conclude his speech. He took it in stride.

I am smarter every time I listen to one of Sharon’s podcasts. The range of topics is exceptional. She works to make us all better humans by learning new information.

I cannot say enough about the things I have learned listened to this podcast. The range of topics is crazy! And go ahead and fact check because it is all truth. Many things I did not like but facts don’t require our approval. And the more I learn the more I want to learn! You won’t regret following this each Monday!

I do not say this off the cuff. The history I have learned and the perspectives I have received have changed me. Sharon is a storyteller, brings light and a hope, and brings the facts. I have gone back and listened to every episode. Some multiple times. I have played series for my kids as we learn about different historical periods. The books she has introduced me to through her guests. You will feel elevated and better for listening. We all need a Sharon McMahon in our life.

She blocked me because I nicely asked why she was pro illegal immigration if she is about the law and facts. If you are a republican, unfollow her. Don’t give her your views for her to make more money.

Statin’s Mother’s name is pronounced “Kek-Aye” not “KEK” good information, but you mention Orlando Figes and he specifically mentions her name, just look it up!

Such a wonderful, intelligent, thought-provoking podcast covering super important topics. The episode with Tim Snyder was so interesting and I wish every single American would listen to it.

I absolutely love Here’s Where It Gets Interesting! I have learned so many facts about history that I had never heard before. And I really can’t tell you how many times Sharon has an author on this show that I wind up buying their book. This is an absolute MUST for anyone who is remotely into history, government, and politics. And even if you’re not into those things, listen anyway—because before too long you’ll enjoy those things too!

What a treat to hear more about how The Small and the Mighty came to be! It’s fun to hear about and puts it all into perspective on how much effort you put into this book. Can’t wait to hear more about the process, and so excited to read the book too!
