FANTASTIC CONCEPT!

Although some have complained about this season’s approach to teaching about this country’s ultimate governing document and subsequent amendments, I think it’s ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL! For those of us who remember the Saturday morning television classic “Schoolhouse Rock” it puts me in the mind of an instructional method that helped students like me with memorizing the preamble to the constitution because it was presented in a song format.

Because preferred learning styles are different for everyone, it’s going to be a very rare occasion when everyone is on the same page with preferences for receiving and reflecting on information. However, what a novel idea for listeners to open themselves up to the diverse presentation styles in season three as we are constantly challenged to do as U.S. citizens striving towards the ideals of constitutional amendments built-in to prompt acceptance and protect the diverse lifestyles of “WE the people.”

As an doctoral student in education I would highly recommend this podcast to incorporate into any government or U.S. history class as an instructional aide.

Great educational podcast about Supreme Court

This is an absolutely amazing podcast that really puts context into many major decisions made over the years. That was until season 3 came along. I couldn’t finish the season because it was annoying. I’m not an artistic kind of person, so hearing a song inspired by amendments was not what I wanted. Please return to the history and context, skip the artistic impressions.

Thanks goodness this wasn’t around in high school!

Or I might have chosen to be a historian instead of a physicist! These format brings to life an enduring set of documents in such a neat, visceral way, I listen to some episodes several times. Not sure who came up with this kooky idea but I’m a more informed, more engaged American thanks to them.
