    Backrooms (2026) - A NeverEnding CreepyPasta Nightmare

Kane Parson's Backrooms, the current holder of The Internet's Creepypasta Heavyweight Belt, has finally hit the big screen. Delivering a unique take on the Liminal Horror experience, Backrooms has quietly become one of the most recognizable horror properties in the world and this new feature film delves deeper into the world of those spooky hallways than ever before. But don't come looking for answers because you're going to walk away with more questions than you came to the movie with thanks to A24's patented confuse-the-hell-out-of-you movie making template. Join your horror hosts Kimmi & Jon as they sit down to discuss and dissect the wild and weird labyrinthian world of Backrooms. Are the Backrooms another dimension? Do you go on forever or is there a beginning and an end to this nightmare realm? And (maybe most importantly), what the hell was this confusing movie even about??!? Note: Drive Home from the Drive-in reviews are FULL SPOILERS (with a quick 15-or-so minute spoiler free review at the top of the show). Want to know whether to watch or pass without the spoil? Verdict: The leadup to Backrooms was such a rollercoaster that we really didn't know what to expect. We didn't really care much at all about the movie until that first trailer dropped, and then we were hooked. The anticipation was real, the premise was super scary, but we were pretty underwhelmed by the finished product. It's another secret A24 Art House Horror so you're probably either going to love it or hate it. We did not love it. And as a special treat, we've recorded this DHFTDI in video! Glorious color! All the dimensions! Tune in via The Fiend Club on Patreon and see all our silly facial expressions while we review the most divisive movie of the year.  Love horror? Prove it. Passenger (2026) - Drive Home From The Drive-in Review

Accidentally picking up a supernatural hitchhiker sucks even worse when your van is your fulltime house. We review André Øvredal's (Autopsy of Jane Doe, Last Voyage of the Demeter) Passenger on the latest Drive home from the Drive-In episode of the Nightmare on Film Street horror movie podcast! A couple throw all of their belongings into storage and hit the road in a souped-up camper van, but life on the road isn't as idyllic as they had hoped. After coming across a strange accident on the road a mysterious traveler seems to have hopped on board, and it's having a fun time toying with the pair in supernatural ways. (the means jumpscares. lots of jumpscares) Note: Drive Home from the Drive-in reviews are FULL SPOILERS (with a quick 15-or-so minute spoiler free review at the top of the show). Want to know whether to watch or pass without the spoil? Verdict: We're both on the fence with this one. It has a couple good sequences, but otherwise it's a cursey lore-builder without a cool enough entity to justify its many repetitive less-than-lethal appearances. There is a very cool lighting scare sequence in the middle that is worth checking out in the theatre, however! And as a special treat, we've recorded this DHFTDI in video! Glorious color! Obsession (2026) - Drive Home From The Drive-in Review

Be careful what you wish for... Is what someone should have said to the love-hungry main character of OBSESSION. Curry Barker's big Hollywood feature debut follows a guy who wishes on a magical willow branch that his crush will fall utterly in love with him. And she does. But it isn't that "yes, I'll totally be your regular human girlfriend" kind of love, it's that "I'd like to hollow out your organs so I can crawl inside you like you're a big ole bird's nest" kind of love. Note: Drive Home from the Drive-in reviews are FULL SPOILERS (with a quick 15-or-so minute spoiler free review at the top of the show). Want to know whether to watch or pass without the spoil? Verdict: Go check it out! We both dug this this supernaturally charged love story.. if you can call it that. The movie is twisted, brutal, and extremely uncomfortable. Girlfriends have never been so spooky. And as a special treat, we've recorded this DHFTDI in video! Glorious color! All the dimensions! You are cordially invited, dear Horror Fan, to this week's episode of Nightmare on Film Street. There'll be food and drink and ghosts, and perhaps even a few murders... Tune in as Kimmi comes to the show ready to tear this movie down, and Jon has his back against the wall, totally unprepared to defend Vincent Price, William Castle, and silly skeletons rising up from an unexplained vat of acid. Hokum (2026) - Drive Home From The Drive-in Review

Damian McCarthy (Oddity) is back with another terrifying folklore-y fright with Hokum, a film that follows American author and outright a*****e Ohm Bauman (Adam Scott) as he travels to a quiet inn in Ireland where his late parents spent their honeymoon in order to spread their ashes. Oh yeah, and the honeymoon suite is haunted by a witch. And as a special treat, we can watch this entire review in video in the Nightmare on Film Street Fiend Club! Glorious color! All the dimensions! Tune in and let us know how you feel about video content. Love it? Hate it? Want to see our silly faces more often? Note: Drive Home from the Drive-in reviews are FULL SPOILERS (with a quick 15-or-so minute spoiler free review at the top of the show). Want to know whether to watch or pass without the spoil? Verdict: GO SEE IT. We're already calling it the scariest movie of the year, and the combination of the soundscapes and the excellent use of pitch black darkness (that definitely has a witch in it), make it a must-see on the big screen. Also, audiences will react to this one, it's got a lot of great jumps! Love horror?
