Most annoying podcast host

It takes a lot to ruin a podcast about music, but the most annoying podcast host I’ve come across manages to do just that on a weekly basis. Get over yourself Mr. Caramanica; drop all your interruptions and everything else that you do to hear yourself talk. Give your guests and the listeners some breathing room.

Music is culture

While these hosts have clearly gone to school to be able to critique music for the NYT, the main host (Caramanica I believe) lacks any sort of insight on the culture that he soaks up the majority of these hour-long episodes critiquing. On top of that, the episodes I've heard featured exclusively male voices that unsurprisingly spoke of women musicians rarely and more negatively than their male counterparts. There truly isn't much substance to be found in this "popcast" as these critics are so far removed from mainstream youth culture that they can't accurately cover what the mainstream youth are listening to, never mind provide any real insight. It's hard enough to find podcasts about music that don't sound like they were recorded through a soda can, so it's especially disappointing to see the New York Times put its name on something so subpar (and that word choice is generous).

<3 This Show

I love this show! I've been a fan from the beginning and I love all of the guests, hosts, topics on the show- really loved this weeks episode on Gospel + Rap. Also, Pedro + Headstepper you're great!

I am fascinated by some of the one star reviews! We don't have to agree with everything everyone says on every podcast to still love it.

Keep it up!!
