Why an Ayurvedic Seasonal Reset Is More Than a Cleanse

What if you didn't wait until your body was struggling before you gave it a reset? In our modern world, we often think of a cleanse or reset as something we need to do after we've overindulged, eaten too much sugar, gained weight, or simply "fallen off the wagon." But Ayurveda takes a different, more preventative approach. Because we are part of nature, the changing seasons affect us too, influencing our digestion, energy, routines, appetite, sleep and overall balance. In this episode, Colette explores why the transition between seasons is such an important time to pause, listen to the body, simplify and support ourselves through change. An Ayurvedic seasonal reset is about much more than a cleanse or detox. Through the Ayurvedic principle of ritucharya, adapting our lifestyle according to the seasons, we can become more aware of how our bodies respond to environmental changes and make adjustments before imbalance becomes more established. Colette explores the relationship between the seasons and the doshas, why supporting agni (digestive fire) is central to an Ayurvedic reset, and why cleansing should include preparation, simplicity, digestion, elimination and, importantly, rejuvenation. You'll also discover how a seasonal reset can become a powerful practice of preventative health rather than something we only turn to when something goes wrong. In this episode, you'll discover: Why Ayurveda takes a preventative approach to health and wellbeing How seasonal changes can influence our bodies, digestion, energy and daily routines The Ayurvedic concept of ritucharya and adapting our lifestyle with the seasons How the doshas can accumulate and become aggravated during seasonal transitions Why subtle changes in digestion can be signals that your body is adapting to a new season Why simplifying food, routines and stimulation can support the body during seasonal change What an Ayurvedic digestive reset involves beyond simply "detoxing" Why supporting digestion and elimination is an important part of a seasonal reset Why the process doesn't end when the cleanse ends The importance of rejuvenation and rebuilding after cleansing Why you don't need to wait until something is wrong before supporting your health How to make a seasonal reset personal to your constitution, lifestyle and individual needs   Join the Autumn Digestive Reset Cleanse If you're ready to support your body through this seasonal transition, my Discounted Group Digestive Reset Cleanse begins October 9th. Why Less Can Sometimes Heal More: The Wisdom of Ayurvedic Simplicity

Have you ever noticed that when you're not feeling your best, your instinct is to do more? Another supplement, another diet, another wellness routine or maybe another expert to follow. But what if your body doesn't need more from you right now? What if it needs less? In this episode, Colette explores the Ayurvedic wisdom of simplicity and why creating space can sometimes be more supportive than continually adding more. Ayurveda reminds us that the body is constantly processing; not only food, but also information, experiences, emotions, stimulation and the demands of everyday life. When there is too much coming in and not enough capacity to process it, we can begin to feel overwhelmed, disconnected and depleted. Creating space can give the body an opportunity to digest, process and eliminate what it no longer needs, while also creating room for intuition, clarity and creativity to emerge. In this episode, you'll discover: Why our instinct to add more isn't always the answer when something isn't working The Ayurvedic understanding of Agni and why digestive capacity matters How we can become overwhelmed by the constant input of modern life Why simplicity can reduce the energy required to navigate our daily lives The difference between restriction and simplification How Ayurveda understands Ama as residue or accumulation from what has not been properly digested or processed Why creating space can support digestion, processing and elimination How mental and emotional "clutter" can make it harder to hear our intuition Why creativity often needs space rather than more stimulation How a seasonal reset can help us step back from unnecessary demands Why your body doesn't always need another protocol, supplement, diet or wellness routine Three simple questions to ask before adding something new to your health routine   Join the Autumn Digestive Reset Cleanse If you're ready to support your body through this seasonal transition, my Discounted Group Digestive Reset Cleanse begins October 9th. When Healthy Habits Stop Working: An Ayurvedic Perspective

You eat well, exercise regularly, meditate, manage your stress and genuinely try to take care of yourself, so why don't you feel better? Sometimes, the answer isn't that you need to try harder or add another healthy habit. Through the Ayurvedic lens, there may be another question worth asking: Does your body currently have the capacity to digest, process and assimilate everything you're giving it? In this episode, Colette explores why healthy habits can sometimes stop feeling helpful and how factors such as stress, sensory input, lifestyle, seasonal changes, accumulation and digestive capacity can influence how we experience our health and wellbeing. You'll learn more about the Ayurvedic concepts of Agni and Ama, why digestion involves more than just the food we eat, and why sometimes creating space, simplifying our routines and reducing unnecessary inputs can be more supportive than continually adding more. In this episode, we explore: Why doing "all the right things" doesn't always mean you'll feel your best The Ayurvedic concept of Agni and our capacity to digest, metabolise and process What Ama means within the Ayurvedic understanding of incomplete digestion and metabolism How accumulation can occur when we're continually taking in more than we have the capacity to process Why stress and nervous system load can change the way we experience digestion Why how you eat can be just as important as what you eat How your digestive capacity can change with your stress, sleep, activity, age, lifestyle and the seasons Why sometimes the body needs less stimulation, less input and more space How simplifying your routine can support digestion, elimination and restoration   Join the Autumn Digestive Reset Cleanse If you're ready to support your body through this seasonal transition, my Discounted Group Digestive Reset Cleanse begins October 9th. Why We Keep Ignoring Our Body's Signals: Ayurveda and Self-Awareness

Have you ever found yourself saying, "I'm fine," even though you know you're exhausted? Maybe you've been living with bloating, poor sleep, low energy, headaches or digestive discomfort for so long that it has simply become your normal. You know something feels different, but life is busy, there are people depending on you, and there's always something else that seems more important. In Episode 458, we explored how Ayurveda views symptoms as messages from the body rather than problems to simply suppress. In this episode, we take the conversation a step further and explore why we so often ignore those messages in the first place. We've become fluent in the language of productivity, achievement and pushing through, but many of us have lost our fluency in the language of the body. We learn to override tiredness, rush through meals, ignore digestive discomfort and tell ourselves that poor sleep is "just stress" or that feeling exhausted is simply part of getting older. Colette shares some of the patterns she has observed through her work with clients, including how easily we can adapt to feeling less well and gradually lower our expectations of what it means to feel healthy and balanced. In this episode, we'll explore: Why we become accustomed to ignoring the body's early signals The psychology behind saying "I'm fine" when we're actually exhausted How modern life encourages us to push through and prioritise productivity Why symptoms can gradually become so normal that we stop questioning them The connection between youthful vitality and our ability to compensate for imbalance Why some of the habits we tolerated when we were younger may affect us differently as we age How Ayurveda encourages curiosity rather than judgement Why awareness is the first step towards meaningful change How to become more fluent in the language of your own body A simple daily question you can use to begin listening more closely   Join the Autumn Digestive Reset Cleanse If you're ready to support your body through this seasonal transition, my Discounted Group Digestive Reset Cleanse begins October 9th. What Is Your Body Trying to Tell You? An Ayurvedic Perspective on Symptoms

Have you ever wished a symptom would simply disappear? Whether it's bloating, fatigue, headaches, restless sleep or digestive discomfort, our first instinct is often to silence the discomfort and get on with our busy lives. But what if those symptoms aren't the problem? What if they're messages? Colette explores one of Ayurveda's most profound teachings: that symptoms are not random inconveniences to suppress but meaningful signals that the body is communicating an imbalance. Rather than fighting our symptoms, Ayurveda invites us to become curious and ask, "What is my body trying to communicate?" You'll discover how Ayurveda helps us understand the body's language of imbalance, why we often ignore its early warning signs, and how seasonal changes can influence our health. Colette also explores why fatigue, bloating and even pain may be invitations to slow down, pay attention and make small adjustments before imbalances become more significant. Whether you're completely new to Ayurveda or have been practicing for years, this episode offers a compassionate reminder that your body isn't working against you, it's working for you. By learning to listen with curiosity rather than fear, you can begin developing a deeper relationship with your body and support your wellbeing from the inside out. In this episode, you'll learn: Why Ayurveda views symptoms as communication rather than problems to eliminate. How to recognize the body's early whispers before they become louder signals. Why fatigue, bloating and pain aren't necessarily the problem, they're valuable information. How seasonal changes can influence Pitta, Kapha and Vata, and what that may look like in your own body. Why modern life encourages us to ignore our body's wisdom. The importance of responding with curiosity instead of criticism. The two fundamental questions Ayurveda asks when understanding imbalance. Simple ways to begin listening to your body's innate intelligence.   Register for the Autumn Digestive Reset Cleanse  If you're ready to support your body through this seasonal transition, my Discounted Group Digestive Reset Cleanse begins October 9th. Rebuilding Self-Trust Through Ayurveda

Have you ever found yourself ignoring your body's signals, overriding your intuition, or constantly looking outside yourself for the "right" answer? In our modern world, we're surrounded by advice on what to eat, how to exercise, and the perfect wellness routine to follow. While information can be incredibly valuable, it can also disconnect us from the most important source of wisdom we have, ourselves. In this episode, Colette explores why self-trust lies at the heart of healing and how Ayurveda gently guides us back to our own inner wisdom. Rather than encouraging dependence on practitioners or protocols, Ayurveda teaches us to become students of ourselves through observation, awareness, and consistent daily practices. Whether you're new to Ayurveda or have been practicing for years, this episode is a gentle reminder that your inner wisdom hasn't disappeared, it may simply need your attention. In this episode, you'll discover: Why self-trust is one of the foundations of healing How modern life encourages us to override our body's natural signals The hidden cost of constantly seeking external answers Why Ayurveda is a personalized system of health rather than a one-size-fits-all approach How observation and self-awareness help strengthen intuition Why symptoms can be viewed as valuable messages from the body The importance of dinacharya (daily routine) in rebuilding trust with yourself Why consistency matters far more than perfection A simple daily practice to help you reconnect with your body's wisdom The Elements of Ayurveda Podcast Community was created for those who wish to go deeper into Ayurveda, together. The Hidden Energy Leaks That Keep You Stuck

Do you ever feel too exhausted, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself to even think about doing the things that you know would support your wellbeing? In this episode, Colette discusses the hidden energy leaks that quietly drain our vitality every day. These aren't always the obvious things like missing a night's sleep or skipping a meal. They're the subtle habits, thought patterns, and daily demands that slowly drain your vitality without you even noticing. They often go unnoticed because they've become part of our normal way of living. Through the Ayurvedic lens of Prana, the life force energy that animates the body and mind, Colette explores how these hidden energy leaks can leave us feeling scattered, depleted, and disconnected from our inner wisdom.  In this episode, you'll discover: What prana is and why protecting it is essential for wellbeing How people pleasing and self-abandonment drain your energy Why doom scrolling and digital overload fragment the mind The energetic impact of physical and mental clutter  How decision fatigue contributes to exhaustion Why unresolved emotions consume your energy  The importance of routine and rhythm in Ayurveda Why consistency often creates more transformation than perfection A simple question to help identify where your energy may be leaking Rather than focusing on what you need to add to your life, this episode invites you to consider what may need to be released. Because sometimes healing doesn't come from doing more. Sometimes it comes from stopping the things that are quietly draining your vitality.
