Sins & Survivors & Stalking: The Case of Rebecca Wolfson

Shaun and John from Sins & Survivors join us to unpack a chilling stalking case out of Las Vegas—one that collides with law enforcement, personal violation, and the limits of the justice system. The victim was Rebecca Wolfson, daughter of Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson. Rebecca was a city attorney, a judicial candidate in 2023, and engaged to a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officer. After the engagement ended, the behavior escalated. According to police documents, Rebecca reported feeling terrorized and in fear for her safety as he drove by her home, tracked her movements, and allegedly misused police databases to monitor people in her life. The case ultimately resulted in criminal charges—raising urgent questions about power, accountability, and what stalking looks like when the person responsible wears a badge. Understanding Stalking and Violence: From Obsession to Protection

Jane Anderson has spent her entire career staring directly into the patterns of control, obsession, and escalation that define stalking and intimate partner violence. She began as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade's Domestic Violence Unit, where she saw—again and again—how stalking isn't just a red flag, but a warning for violence to come. Great Concept; Awful Execution

I love stalking stories and was so excited to start this pod but oh dear. It’s been almost a constant disappointment with each episode. The hosts are SO disconnected, robotic and reading from the same, worst script ever. All guests are via zoom so that whole phone-call sound is prevalent with just adds to the whole disjointed feel. 90% of their zoom call guests are terrible story tellers or boring people that you wonder why anyone would stalk them. 5% of them aren’t even even getting stalked they’re just being mildly annoyed. Out of all these episodes only 2 had interesting, engaging guests with stories worth listening to. To add gasoline to this already flaming dumpster fire, the 2 most recent episodes have production/ editing issues where the sponsored ads are cutting literally in the middle of a guests’ sentence! It’s sudden and annoying and unprofessional. I’m done trying to suffer through such painful drivel in hopes maybe the new episodes good. Because folks leaving nasty comments on TikTok isn’t “stalking” and these ridiculous examples shouldn’t even be given a platform.

I’m not sure about some of these cases. The last one I heard. Her pastor was in her house on her laptop and she didn’t call the police? Even with kids on the house? You weren’t worried about how he got in? No? Just me?

This show used to be pretty okay - however there are some episodes where the guest is DEFINITELY exhibiting signs of a mental illness and the sympathy here just encourages their delusions - (specifically, there was one with a woman convinced her coworker was hacking all of her phones and spying on her, some of the things she insisted and hinged her argument on are not possible - my opinion as a legitimate IT professional) - then on top of that are the blaring random ad placements, and the hosts not asking anything substantial to the guests.
