    EP 176: I Wasn’t an Addict… I Was Just a Workaholic Who linked to Binge | Brittany Andrew's Story

In this episode of Hell Has an Exit, Bryan sits down with Britt Andrews for an open conversation about addiction, recovery, mental health, trauma, spirituality, and finding purpose after decades in the adult entertainment industry. Britt has spent more than 35 years building a successful career, but behind that success was a much more complicated story. She opens up about childhood trauma, experimenting with drugs at a young age, surviving dangerous experiences with substance use, and the years she spent believing she didn't truly have a problem because she was still successful, working, and showing up for her responsibilities.  She also talks about something that often gets overlooked in conversations about addiction: high-functioning substance use. For Britt, being productive and successful made it harder to recognize the impact drugs and alcohol were having on her life. Even after finding recovery, she eventually relapsed and began watching her mental health deteriorate, which ultimately helped her realize she needed to return to the program.  Now celebrating 10 years in recovery, Britt shares how 12-step programs, therapy, spirituality, trauma work, boundaries, and addressing her workaholism helped change her life. She also explains why she chooses to be open about her career in recovery spaces, hoping others with similar backgrounds can walk into a room and know they aren't alone.  The conversation goes beyond getting clean. Britt and Bryan discuss what it means to actually build a life in recovery, confront the parts of yourself you've spent years avoiding, and eventually use your own experiences to help someone else. Today, Britt says one of the things that gives her the most fulfillment is supporting younger people in her industry, helping them protect their boundaries, mental health, and sense of self.  This is a conversation about surviving, healing, self-acceptance, and discovering that recovery can become much bigger than simply giving something up. If you or someone you love is struggling with addiction or mental health, you are not alone. Recovery is possible. 🎙️ Hell Has an Exit — Episode 176 featuring Britt Andrews Subscribe to Hell Has an Exit for more real conversations about addiction recovery, sobriety, mental health, trauma, personal growth, and second chances. #HellHasAnExit #AddictionRecovery #RecoveryPodcast #Sobriety #MentalHealth #SoberLife #TraumaRecovery #12StepRecovery #PersonalGrowth #RecoveryJourney Learn more about your ad choices. EP 175: The Modern Gomorrah | Jo Beth's Story

In Episode 175 of Hell Has an Exit, Teddy Tarantino sits down with Jo Beth, better known online as Modern Gomorrah, for a conversation about the unconventional path that took her from a conservative upbringing in East Tennessee to becoming a nurse practitioner, working through the darkest days of COVID, exploring the lifestyle with her husband, and eventually building an entirely different career online.  Jo Beth opens up about growing up religious, questioning the beliefs she was raised with, and eventually finding a new sense of spirituality through yoga, Buddhism, meditation, and learning to live more in the present. She also talks about the physical and emotional toll of working nights in healthcare, including her years in the ICU and the traumatic situations she learned to compartmentalize just to keep moving forward.  The conversation then dives into her marriage and how she and her husband slowly began exploring outside the boundaries of a traditional relationship. What started as curiosity eventually introduced them to the lifestyle, forcing both of them to confront jealousy, shame, trust, communication, and what they actually wanted from their relationship.  But her biggest crossroads came while she was still working exhausting hospital shifts and pursuing her doctorate. After meeting friends who were making online content, she began questioning the life she had worked so hard to build. What initially started anonymously became a growing opportunity and created a conflict between her professional identity in healthcare and the completely different person she was becoming outside of work.  From religion and relationships to sexuality, healthcare, COVID, burnout, identity and walking away from the path everyone expected her to follow, this episode is about what happens when the life that looks right on paper no longer feels like the life you want. EP 174: Face everything and recover or f**k everything and run | Ricky G's Story

Ricky G. started drinking and getting high at just 15 years old after running away from home and finding himself homeless, scared, and searching for somewhere to belong. What began as a way to cope eventually turned into nearly three decades of addiction.  At 22, Ricky landed in the hospital and learned that his HIV had progressed to AIDS. His T-cell count was just three, and doctors told him he had seven days to live. He survived, but instead of changing his life, Ricky eventually found meth, the drug that would consume the next 20 years. By 2020, Ricky was arrested and placed on house arrest at his father's home. Even with a safe place to live and his father taking care of him, he continued using, having drugs delivered to the house and sneaking people through his bedroom window. Then, in 2022, his father died. Ricky spiraled even further, reaching a point where he was considering ending his own life.  Instead, another arrest ultimately led him to treatment. In this episode of Hell Has an Exit, Ricky sits down with Bryan to talk about addiction, homelessness, HIV, losing his father, jail, treatment, finding recovery for the first time, and what finally made him want a different life. Today, Ricky is clean, healthy, active in the recovery community, sponsoring others, and living a life he once couldn't imagine for himself. After spending most of his life either homeless, incarcerated, or high, he celebrated his 45th birthday as the first birthday since age 15 that he was none of those things.  His message to anyone just getting clean is simple: find your people, ask questions, get a sponsor, listen to the suggestions, and keep coming back. EP 173: Choosing Addiction | Tyler's Story

Welcome to Episode 173 of Hell Has an Exit. Tyler Wilson knew what he wanted from an early age, and unfortunately, that meant drugs. What started with weed and pills as a kid quickly escalated into meth, heroin, needles, overdoses, hospital stays, and a life that was becoming harder and harder to escape. By 18, Tyler had already overdosed in a Taco Bell bathroom. He battled addiction, homelessness, deteriorating health, broken relationships, and multiple attempts at getting clean before finally realizing that recovery had to be different this time. At 23, Tyler returned to South Florida for treatment with a plan: stop worrying about everything outside those four walls and completely commit to rebuilding his life. Nearly seven years later, the kid who once couldn't see a future beyond getting high is now using the same experiences that nearly killed him to help people still living on the streets and struggling with addiction. Tyler sits down with Teddy to talk about the insanity of active addiction, meth and heroin, overdosing, getting clean in South Florida, sober living, mental health, rebuilding his life from nothing, and why sometimes helping someone doesn't mean telling them what to do. It means meeting them exactly where they're at. From addiction and rock bottom to purpose, discipline, and giving back, this is Tyler Wilson's story. Hell has an exit. You just have to find it. EP 169: Celebrated 9 years clean, then he relapsed hours later | Jarret Stone's Story

What happens when you have 9 years clean, pick up your recovery medallion… and relapse the very same day? In this powerful episode of Hell Has An Exit, Teddy Tarantino sits down with Jarret Stone for one of his most honest conversations yet. Jarret opens up about the hidden dangers of becoming disconnected from recovery, how success can quietly replace sobriety as the priority, and the painful consequences that followed. From a public arrest and the shame that came with it to rebuilding his life, reconnecting with the program, and finding love in recovery, Jarret shares a story that proves relapse doesn't have to be the end of the story.  They also dive into: The warning signs that appeared long before the relapse How addiction can simply change forms if left untreated Growing up in a family deeply affected by addiction and mental illness Losing his father and older brother The realities of shame, sex addiction, and rebuilding trust Why meetings, sponsorship, and connection matter more than ever Finding purpose, forgiveness, and hope after hitting another bottom How recovery led him to the relationship he always wanted  Whether you're in recovery, love someone who is, or simply want to hear an incredible comeback story, this episode is a reminder that no amount of clean time makes us immune—and that it's never too late to come back.
