They do NOTHING regarding ‘climate change’ or genuine environmental issues. I lived (2016-21) across from a factory that ran day and night in Beijing and the ONLY time China cared about the environment was when there was an international event and ONLY then did they shutdown factories (they burn coal like it’s going out of style) or neuter traffic. Remarkably, it’s then that the skies turn blue. They don’t allow monitoring of their environment directly by foreign entities who are meant to measure climate pros and cons in the Middle Kingdom. It’s all propaganda. Go to a beach in Xiamen and garbage washes up daily. Are there some incredible places there that are beautiful and clean beyond belief, but those are in the wilderness or rural areas and particularly the mountain ranges. But, in general? As much as I enjoyed my time in China (and I adore the people, but not the CCP), they aren’t part of the whole climate matters (which has proven to be greatly overstated by environmentalists) and, in fact, to the contrary. Sorry, Jake Sullivan, you’ve no true idea of China.

Aaron is incredibly knowledgeable, well connected and a great communicator. Listening to his podcast is very informative and feels free from any partisan talking points, but rather sticks with some of the objective facts on the ground.

I know it’s a show by the Free Press so I shouldn’t get my hopes up, but it would be in the show’s best interest to cut ties with very important historian (he’s written books, you know) Niall Ferguson. He completely misrepresents Darryl Cooper in the name of protecting the founding myth of the rapidly dying international rules-based order.

Would be good to invite Sullivan, Finer or Malley on to get their take on the negotiations with Iran.
