Ep# 76: When Exhausting Relationships Take Up Time

In this episode, I'm talking about the "laziness lie" from Dr. Devon Price's book Laziness Does Not Exist and how believing you're lazy if you don't help people can quietly destroy your boundaries. I get into why some relationships leave you exhausted, how over-helping actually keeps people stuck, and what it looks like to start pulling back in small, realistic ways.  Get support in Jen's "We Are A Lot" online community. An interactive (yet self-paced, no forced socializing) group giving you 24/7 peer to peer support. It's designed for ADHD/AuDHD humans that need connection and gentle accountability with taking action, so you're not doing it all alone. You get daily body doubling sessions with Jen, weekly check-in progress meetings, extras like live Q&A's with Jen, book club meetings, journaling sessions with Jen, instructional videos for nervous system regulation, a private chat community, free worksheets, guides and printables, journal prompts, as well as all of the podcast episodes early and ad-free, video versions with transcripts, and four audio bonus episodes per month. Ep# 75: Hyper-Curiosity and ADHD: When Your Brain Won't Stop Exploring

In this episode, I talk about the emerging idea of ADHD and hyper-curiosity - the  intense urge to explore, research, and learn everything right now. Hyper-curiosity can fuel creativity and discovery, but it can make modern life harder to manage. Why does it feel like the emotion you're in right now is going to last forever?  In episode #70 ADHD and AuDHD: Why Feelings Feel Permanent, I explore why we struggle to hold onto the idea that feelings change because when one shows up, our attention locks onto it, making it feel permanent and all-encompassing. Ep# 69 - Feelings vs Emotions: What's the Difference and Why It Matters for ADHD & AuDHD

It's Feelings February, on the "You Are A LOT" podcast, and I'm starting the first episode of the month with a basic question: what's the difference between an emotion and a feeling? Emotions are real-time body signals—racing heart, tight chest, clenched jaw, shallow breathing. Feelings are what you become aware of and can name after your brain interprets those body signals. For ADHD and AuDHD humans, there's often a lag between the emotion happening and the feeling "forming," (due to our issues with interoception) which can make it hard to answer a simple question like "What's wrong?" I explain how to use a Feelings Wheel and why naming the body state can sometimes ground you more than naming a feeling too fast. Show Notes: Join Jen's Accountability Club! A highly interactive monthly membership where you meet with me live every week for accountability, body-double sessions, journaling, and monthly Q&A. It's designed for ADHD/AuDHD brains that need connection and support taking action — so you're not doing it all alone. Membership is $19.99/month, with an annual option currently available at 31% off (that's over three months free) with code 2AD87.
