Maura was a 21 year old student in February of 2004 when she inexplicably drove three hours from her dorm in Amherst, Massachusetts to the White Mountains of New Hampshire and vanished. At around 7:30pm her vehicle was involved in a single car, non life threatening accident at a hairpin turn on dark & desolate Route 112. She has not been seen or heard from since. Now two filmmakers set out to find answers on this mystery by diving deep into Maura's life, the region in which she went missing, and the online world of citizen detectives. First time tuning in this week and enjoyed the psychological analysis (ep 7?)! At the end, one of you posed the question to the analyst, “does the rag in the tailpipe still bother you?”. I remember seeing an old movie or show where a rag was used as a wick to start a vehicle on fire. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Meh. It’s ok. Not groundbreaking.

It’s not a great podcast, but definitely NOT for the reasons so many are mentioning. The constant whining about the podcasters “speculation” is groundless and ridiculous: OF COURSE they’re going to speculate. If every TC podcast was limited to the limited information the police provide (even assuming it’s accurate), then each case would be exactly one episode and done, and then the people missing wouldn’t get the attention they deserve to keep their stories in the spotlight. It’s not about “feelings”; it’s about exploring theories and helping to solve these cases and bring missing people home! No, the problem with this podcast is that they started out taking chances and then tried to become all things to all people. Can’t offend the Murray family. Can’t offend the police. Can’t offend the authors or private investigators or neighbors. In trying to bow and scrape to please everyone, they lost their edge. It’s no longer a podcast that explores new theories anymore; it’s a podcast that regurgitates sanitized information. I don’t have a strong opinion about what happened one way or the other. I think the family and the majority of law enforcement officials and neighbors are all decent people trying their best. But it’s been 20 years, and when a case is spinning its wheels for that long, maybe playing it safe and trying not to step on any toes isn’t the way to go.

The info on their Maura Murray case has a lot of misinformation. Close, but not quite. I also am not a fan of assumptions. I am fond of facts/factual evidence. To assume what Maura was doing and who she was/is is not your job. Telling facts, is what is right. Please, Go listen to Media Pressure for the correct info (from her own sister) on the Maura Murray story. All based on facts and no assumptions. I can’t even finish listening to it, on this platform.

Not well researched, there is a lot of the hosts guessing at what they think might have happened and calling it facts. The way the victom is talked about is rather disgusting. This young woman is missing and may be dead. These men want to stand on HER GRAVE to make themselves famous. No thank you. And episode 3 Scorpion could be pretty good grounds for a liable case against this company.
