Eclipse Season Do’s and Don’ts: The Vedic Astrology Guide with Narasingha

If life has felt unusually intense, uncertain, emotional, or even a little chaotic lately, you are not alone. We are in eclipse season, a liminal space in which what has been hidden can rise to the surface. Familiar structures may begin to shift, and life can seem to move faster than our minds can fully process.  On August twenty-seventh, we experienced a powerful partial lunar eclipse. In Vedic astrology, lunar eclipses are associated with culmination, revelation, emotional release, and the illumination of unconscious patterns. But no two eclipses carry exactly the same energy. The nakshatra, or lunar mansion, in which an eclipse occurs helps determine its particular nature.  Each of the twenty-seven nakshatras carries its own planetary ruler, presiding deity, symbolism, and spiritual purpose. An eclipse moving through a nakshatra associated with nourishment, for example, may illuminate themes around belonging and emotional security, while an eclipse occurring in a nakshatra connected to transformation may initiate endings, awakenings, or profound inner change.  This eclipse takes place in Shatabhisha, a nakshatra associated with healing, mystery, truth, and the uncovering of what has been concealed. Its name is often translated as one hundred healers or one hundred medicines. Yet Shatabhisha can also bring periods of solitude, disruption, or emotional distance, asking us to turn inward and encounter the parts of ourselves that are ready to be understood and healed.  And while an eclipse carries a collective theme, it does not affect everyone in precisely the same way. Its personal significance depends upon where the eclipse falls within your individual birth chart, which planets it touches, and how its nakshatra connects with your own. This is why one person may experience a relationship shift, another may feel called toward a new purpose, and someone else may feel simply exhausted, sensitive, or deeply reflective.  Today, we are joined by a dear friend, Nara Singh, to help us understand the deeper significance of eclipse season through the wisdom of Vedic astrology. We explore why eclipses can feel so destabilizing, how the nakshatras shape their expression, and how we can move through these cosmic thresholds with greater awareness rather than fear. If your life feels messy right now, if relationships are changing, emotions are surfacing, or the path ahead suddenly feels unclear, this conversation is here to remind you that you are not alone. Perhaps the chaos is not evidence that everything is falling apart. Perhaps something hidden is simply becoming visible so that a more honest and aligned chapter can begin.  Send us Fan Mail This episode is brought to you by Ojas Oasis Ayurveda, Sasha's private clinical practice. Ayurveda vs. Traditional Chinese Medicine: What's the Difference? with Key Reteff

Ayurveda and TCM are two of the world's oldest and continuously practiced systems of medicine. They developed in different cultures, use different language, and have their own unique diagnostic framework. Yet, when you begin looking beneath the surface, there are some fascinating parallels: Prana and Chi, the Five Elements, constitutional medicine, food as medicine, the relationship between our internal environment, and the seasons and natural world around us. Today, I am joined by Key Reteff, founder of Holistic University, a wellness and retreat company creating immersive experiences designed to reconnect people with their health, themselves, and the natural world.  Key's work brings together different healing traditions and modalities, which makes him the perfect person for a conversation we've been wanting to have for a long time: how does Ayurveda compare to traditional Chinese medicine? In this episode, Key and Sasha explore where these two systems overlap, where they fundamentally differ, and what each tradition can teach us about what it actually means to practice holistic medicine. Why We Form Patterns and How to Break the Ones Holding Us Back

Erin and Sasha explore how habits are formed, where they come from, and why we can find ourselves repeating the same patterns—even when we genuinely want to stop. We look at the roots of addiction, the various traumas we endure, and how they can keep our inner child frozen and stuck in a loop. We also discuss what happens when we shift from asking, “What am I lacking that keeps me stuck?” to “What resources do I already have, and how can I optimize them?” This is a conversation about self-awareness, healing, resilience, and the courage to step out of victim mentality. We invite you to call your power back from the people, experiences, and stories you’ve given it to—and learn how to protect that power. This episode is about recognizing that we may have far more capacity, wisdom, and strength within us than we think. Whether you’re navigating change, letting go of an old version of yourself, or simply trying to take one small step forward, reconnect with what’s already within you—and discover what’s possible when you do. How to Access Quantum Flow State: Coherent Non-Intervention with Dr. Arpit Bansal

The deepest states of healing and flow are not something we have to force. They are something we gain access to, when we finally stop interfering. Today’s guest is Dr. Arpit Bansal, an advanced laparoscopic and cancer surgeon, gut-health and longevity specialist, international speaker, and the visionary known as the “Aquaman Biohacker.”  Drawing from more than 15 years in medicine, along with his exploration of breathwork, consciousness, biohacking, and underwater meditation, Dr. Arpit bridges the worlds of modern science and the innate intelligence of the human body. In today’s conversation, we explore how to access what Dr. Arpit calls the quantum flow state through the practice of coherent non-intervention—a state in which we release force, control, and resistance so that the nervous system, breath, body, and awareness can return to coherence. We also dive deeply into the healing power of water as a living environment that can support nervous-system regulation, emotional release, expanded awareness, and a profound return to stillness. Dr. Arpit shares why water has become both his teacher and his laboratory, how immersion can change our relationship with our bodies and minds, and that our greatest medicine already exists within us. This episode is another reminder that healing does not always come from doing more. Sometimes, it begins when we allow ourselves to become still.  Send us Fan Mail This episode is brought to you by Ojas Oasis Ayurveda, Sasha's private clinical practice. Building an Ayurvedic Business: Self-Development, Proof of Concept, and Dharmic Equity

"Never in my life have I felt so grounded, so strong, so centered. Austin, Texas, is my home. This city—this community—is my family. My work, everything I have worked so hard to build and everything I have worked so hard to become, finally has a safe place to nest and expand. I didn’t realize until very recently that I had never felt truly at Home—until now. Now that I know what it feels like to come Home—to safety, rejuvenation, beauty, and peace—I realize what I have finally created. Not only a home for myself, but an oasis for my beloved community. A sacred thread running through my identity has always been Work Ethic and Follow-Through. Another word that comes to mind as I reflect is Integrity. When I say I will do something, that means it’s done.  No matter what it takes, I reach the finish line. And bringing Ayurveda to the masses has been the greatest and most rewarding use of that gift. I do it for God. I do it for Love. I do it to set a precedent for the next girl or boy dreaming of a career in Ayurveda—or pursuing another noble and worthy cause, whatever that hero’s journey looks like for them. I want to give them the ability to see it and believe that it is possible. It took me a long time to embrace my role as a Leader. To accept my own innate worthiness. It took exactly as long as it took. But here we are. For context, I grew up feeling deprived of Love. I was starving for it throughout my 20s and well into my early 30s, which drew me into all kinds of unhealthy relationship dynamics—with myself and romantic partners. But my parents were kind enough to acknowledge my work ethic. I could sense that it made them respect me. So I ran with that—quite literally. From my first New York City Marathon at 18 to the eight-year marathon of becoming an Ayurvedic Doctor. This season begins at a new threshold. We are no longer asking whether Ojas Oasis can work. The clinic, the podcast, the online store, the merchandise, the partnerships, and this growing community have answered that question. Now we are asking: How far can it expand? After a 90 minute hot Vinyasa class this morning, I got my answer to that question. It can expand as much as I can hold and allow it to expand. Which means, everything that has happened prior to this season, built incredible tolerance and strength into my vessel. Which means, great power can flow through it. Life humbled me enough and purified me enough, to realize that great power is a great responsibility, gifted to those who can use it to help others. The leaders I have seen fall from the greatest of heights, fell the moment they tried to hold on to power, vs let it flow and let it go as it chooses. I have experienced life without love, without money, without friends, without certainty. Therefore, the fear of losing or the fear of dying, has been conquered. Because I have already lost 1000 times, and died 1000 times. In order to serve you all as deeply as I intend to, it requires constant up-leveling on my part. I am always looking at where I can grow, improve, and transmute my ego. This is what I call Dharmic Equity: the trust, capacity, and enduring value built when ambition is governed by service. It is not power we hoard; it is value we steward. 9 seasons and a billion miles later, we are and continue to be proof of concept. Thank y’all for staying by our side as we pave the path into the next season.  For our true fans and listeners, our first edition merch is now available: an Ojas Oasis t-shirt in 3 gorgeous colors: navy blue, ghee yellow, and blush pink. 100% cotton, available both in the clinic and online at www.ojasoasis.com/shop A simple reminder to keep your cup full, protect your Ojas, and your inner peace." - Sasha Send us Fan Mail This episode is brought to you by Ojas Oasis Ayurveda, Sasha's private clinical practice. Connect to the Highest State of Awareness through Sahasrapadma (Crown Chakra) (2025)

This episode originally aired in 2025 and, as one of our most-loved conversations, we're sharing it again with you today. Today, Erin and Sasha dive into the beauty of the Sahasrapadma Chakra.  “Sahasrara” means thousand and “Padma” means lotus. Together, it is referred to as the “thousand-petaled lotus.” Much like the human experience, a lotus begins its life in the depths of muddy, murky waters—our struggles, attachments, desires, and ignorance (Avidya). Just as the lotus remains rooted in the mud, we too are born into the material world, facing suffering, karmic cycles, and obstacles. As the lotus stem rises through the water, it symbolizes the seeker’s journey through self-awareness, discipline, and inner purification. The phrase represents the infinite layers of consciousness. And through our efforts in Yoga, Meditation, and Self-Inquiry, overcoming obstacles, refining the mind, and aligning with higher consciousness, we unfold one petal at a time, moving closer to Divine realization.  Sahasrapadma Chakra is located at the crown of the head, and is the gateway to pure consciousness. When it is balanced, we experience deep inner peace, clarity, and a profound connection to universal wisdom. Life flows effortlessly, and we feel aligned with our highest purpose.  When imbalanced or blocked, it can manifest as mental fog, chronic stress, anxiety, or depression. On a physical level, disharmony in this chakra is often linked to neurological disorders, migraines, hormonal imbalances, sleep disturbances, and even autoimmune conditions. Some may struggle with disconnection from their spiritual path, while others might experience an overwhelming sense of isolation or existential confusion. Through meditation, pranayama, acts of surrender, nourishing ourselves with sattvic foods like coconut, almonds, and ghee, occasional fasting with fresh juices or herbal teas, and using Ayurvedic herbs such as Brahmi, Shankhpushpi, Gotu Kola, and Tulsi, we unlock the potential of this energy center. Yoga asanas like Sirsasana (headstand), Savasana (corpse pose), Vrikshasana (tree pose) and Padmasana (lotus pose) further help stimulate this center of Divine connection.  When the lotus reaches the surface, it blossoms in the sunlight, untouched by the water below. This represents the final stage of spiritual awakening, the self-realization (moksha), where one transcends suffering, duality, and illusion (maya). The enlightened being, like a lotus, remainds in the world but is no longer affected by its turbulence. Despite its impure surroundings, the lotus remains pristine and beautiful, symbolizing that true beauty and purity arise from within, regardless of external circumstances.  Send us Fan Mail This episode is brought to you by Ojas Oasis Ayurveda, Sasha's private clinical practice. Transcend Your Thoughts Through Agnya (Third Eye Chakra) (2025)

This episode originally aired in 2025 and, as one of our most-loved conversations, we're sharing it again with you today. Sasha and Erin continue the Chakra series with Agnya, meaning “Divine Permission.” This is the sixth chakra, which is considered the master chakra. It is located at the third eye, the space between the eyebrows, where the pineal and pituitary glands are, which is also where the Ida and Pingala nadis originate. The pineal and pituitary glands play crucial roles in regulating hormones, consciousness, and perception.     The Pineal Gland is considered “the seat of the Soul.” It regulates circadian rhythms by producing melatonin which helps regulate sleep cycles, dreams, and altered states of consciousness. Associated with inner vision, intuition, and spiritual awakening, the pineal gland responds to light and darkness, mirroring the duality of perception (Maya vs. Truth). Considered the “Eye of Shiva” in yogic traditions, Agnya Chakra is linked to higher wisdom and deep meditation. Practices like Kriya Yoga, Trataka (candle gazing), and deep meditation activate the pineal gland, enhancing spiritual perception.    The Pituitary Gland is considered “The Master Gland.” It regulates hormonal balance by controlling the thyroid, adrenal glands, reproductive organs, and metabolism. It produces growth hormone, oxytocin (the love hormone), and stress hormones. It governs physical and emotional equilibrium. It also works as the bridge between the body and higher consciousness.    So when you think Pineal Gland, think Inner Vision, Allowing higher perception, deep meditation, and spiritual connection. When you think Pituitary Gland, think Master Regulator, ensuring hormonal and mental balance, helping integrate spiritual experiences into daily life.    Activating the Agnya Chakra (through Ayurvedic herbs, diet and lifestyle, breathwork, meditation, and chanting mantra such as “Om Namah Shivaya”) influences pituitary function, leading to enhanced mental clarity, intuition, and self-mastery.     The Rudra Granthi (or knot of Shiva) gets untied here, allowing access to the inner guru (intuition, a deeper knowing, natural intelligence, a state of clarity). Rudra Granthi is the final energetic blockage that must be untied for spiritual awakening. This knot represents ego, attachment to identity, and intellectual limitations. When untied or dissolved, Shiva-consciousness, or pure awareness, arises. There is no thought here, because we transcend thought. And we can have phenomenal impact on the field, as it gives rise to genius mind and more kundalini shakti moving up.     Agnya brings Prana to the nervous system. So when we are balanced here, we go beyond habit and the causal plane. We have access to deep self-healing and a quantum mind. We receive the energy and knowledge of the timeless dimension, a state of dynamic stillness.  Send us Fan Mail This episode is brought to you by Ojas Oasis Ayurveda, Sasha's private clinical practice.
