Pax Britannica is a narrative history podcast covering the empire upon which the sun never set. Beginning with the accession of James VI of Scotland to the throne of England, Pax Britannica will follow the people and events that created an empire that dominated the globe.

Hosted by a PhD candidate in British Imperial history, and based on extensive scholarship and primary sources, along with interviews with experts in their field, Pax Britannica aims to explain the rise and eventual fall of the largest empire in history. After all, there was little peaceful about the 'British Peace'.

A top-tier history podcast

This is the real deal. It’s well-researched, engagingly presented, and provides the appropriate depth for someone wanting to really understand the subject.

I would rate this on par with Mike Duncan’s History of Rome and Revolutions. I hope this project is seen through to its completion, whichever arbitrary date is set!

A “cracking” podcast

“Blimey!” Pax Brittanica is “ace!” The “chap” who hosts the show is no “tosser;” he’s a real history “boffin” but still keeps the show engaging. “Bob’s your uncle!”

One of my favorite history podcasts

Looking forward to the English Civil War
