Staring Down the Unsolvable: What to Do When You Can't Find a Solution

Staring Down the Unsolvable: What to Do When You Can't Find a Solution

Hey there, friends! If you've been following along with me for a while, you're probably well-acquainted with the story of my laundry room/pantry renovation. It's been a long process to finally get here, but it's almost, almost done...and now that this stressful but inspiring chapter is coming to a close, I want to share the lessons this renovation has taught me with all of you. Lessons about life, business, and the need for collaboration when tackling a problem you're not sure how to solve.

Renovation is always exciting, because you know something wonderful and life-improving is waiting at the end. But the process itself can leave you daunted, frustrated, and sick of everything being covered in construction dust. However, there are lessons to be learned even during the stressful, seemingly-unending stages of change...and I'm thrilled to finally be able to share them with you.

Selling Through Six Degrees of Separation: A Discussion with Kasey Orvidas

Selling Through Six Degrees of Separation: A Discussion with Kasey Orvidas

Everybody give a huge welcome to my special guest today, Kasey Orvidas!

Kasey is an incredible fitness coach, mentor, and all-around brilliant businesswoman. Her journey from a PhD student interested in criminal justice to eventually earning her PhD in psychology to building a business based on health, fitness, and mindset coaching is one of the most interesting journeys I've ever heard, and I can't wait for you all to hear it.

But Kasey's also here to tell one of my other favorite stories: the story of how we met, and how the connections we both made leading up to that moment were crucial for us to end up working together.

    93. Happiness Over Hustle: How to Prioritize Life with Megan Yelaney

    93. Happiness Over Hustle: How to Prioritize Life with Megan Yelaney

Please welcome a special guest this week: Megan Yelaney! Megan is the host of the #PrettyAwkward Entrepreneur Podcast, which is for, according to her, “the online entrepreneur who wants to build a successful & impactful business that lights them up.” She's all about helping others find their specific coaching style and learn to market their own weird, wonderful brand, and she's amazing at it...but with a booming business comes more complicated income and expenses.

Today, I asked Megan to come on and talk about her business story, to share how we got connected (hint: we have very different versions of that story!), to indulge in my Enneagram theories, and to explain why bookkeeping is so important for her as a business owner.

Offering a DIY Template: How to Profit from In-Between Clients

Offering a DIY Template: How to Profit from In-Between Clients

Controversial opinion: Sometimes, you have to downsell before you can upsell.

As bookkeepers, we're used to the principle of upselling: doing our best to get clients to commit to our highest-value offers. But downselling can be just as valuable, which is why this week I'm going to talk about all the reasons why you should be offering a DIY template as a downsell option! We're going to talk about the purpose of offering a DIY template, who that offer should be directed to, how to sell one successfully, and how downselling can actually lead to more business for you in the long run.

How & Why I Pivoted My Group CFO Offer

How & Why I Pivoted My Group CFO Offer

Breaking news: As much as it hurts, sometimes we have to admit that our latest brilliant idea just isn't working.

This doesn't make it a bad idea; in fact, it could still very well be a brilliant one! But sometimes there are pieces buried in our ideas that simply don't fit what our clients need from us. The good news? That doesn't mean you have to throw the whole offer away! In this episode, I'm here to talk about my experience with creating a group CFO offer...and the five lessons I learned from having to pivot when it wasn't quite meeting the needs of my clients.

Client to Client, Friend to Friend: Unfiltered Thoughts on Business and Course Creation with Ariel Schiffer

Client to Client, Friend to Friend: Unfiltered Thoughts on Business and Course Creation with Ariel Schiffer

Say hello to a very special guest host this week! I brought Ariel Schiffer on primarily to share her experience as one of my bookkeeping clients. Ariel originally purchased my DIY template, then took the leap to monthly bookkeeping, and is now a CFO client. Ariel's desire for more was the catalyst behind me even offering a CFO offer.

She’s not just a client though- I am a repeat client of hers. Ariel is the owner of Dreampro Courses, the team of course creation experts behind BABs and Libby.
Little did I know when I signed her as a client that the relationship would one day blossom into not only a mutually beneficial work relationship but a friendship as well.

That’s not all we talk about, however so get ready as we cover everything and nothing when it comes to running your own business, like:
Course creation as an asset to your current business Adaptability as a cornerstone of how you operate What we love about each others’ programs How neutral perspectives are so beneficial for your business’ continued growth Ready for a truly fluid and unscripted conversation as Dreampro CEO Ariel Schiffer and I cover all sorts of topics? Nothing is off limits including marketing, the value of bookkeeping, and pivoting within your business and more.

This is a story and episode you won't want to miss!

Make sure to tune into the latest episode of Profits+Prosecco The Podcast for the full interview.

Must Listen!

The Profits + Prosecco podcast is full of knowledge, inspiration, and insight. Katie is a relatable, authentic coach. I love that Katie provides different options for everything and doesn’t force you to think or do something in one particular way. She encourages you to create and live the life you want while doing what feels right for you, on your own timing. Katie is a piece of treasure that deserves to be shared with all entrepreneurs and bookkeepers!

Thank you

Katie is a wealth of knowledge and a valuable resource! Her products made book keeping super simple for me as a business owner, not a CPA.
