BLACK OPS 7 OPTIC MAJOR 1 CDL INCOMING | The COD Casuals Ep. 259

Welcome to episode #259 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we give our final thoughts on the CDL’s online matches, as we come to the end of the online qualifiers and are now ready for Major 1 in Dallas. We are beyond excited to be attending this event, and we will be sure to give our full breakdown of the experience in next week’s episode. We give our opinions on who are gonna be the top teams making it to Sunday, and how this has to be one of the best Major 1 events in a while due to the uncertainty at the top. With no clear #1 team, we’re expecting some crazy matches, and hopefully a couple upsets along the way. Finally, we have gotten confirmation that ranked play will be dropping on February 5th, and we cannot be more excited. A big annoyance people have had with the game so far is the long wait for ranked play to drop. We have to look back on the mistakes of last year with ranked, and hope that Treyarch has taken the necessary steps to make this ranked play experience better than last year. What teams did you expect to make a run at Major 1, and which teams surprised you, either positively or negatively? Who do you think is most likely to make a change after the major, and who in your eye is the clear #1 team? Finally, what are your expectations with ranked play? https://discord.gg/9NJYBzbu Follow us: Twitter: @TheCODCasuals Instagram: @TheCODCasuals TikTok: @TheCODCasuals Contact us: Business Inquiries: TheCODCasuals@gmail.com

BLACK OPS 7 VS BATTLEFIELD 6 | OPTIC MAJOR 1 INCOMING | The COD Casuals Ep. 258

Welcome to episode #258 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we start off with the CDL weekend recap, as we draw closer to Major 1 in Dallas. This year has been interesting compared to previous years, as there is no clear top team in the league right now, as this past weekend had some major upsets coming from bottom teams on the resurgence towards top teams. We share our thoughts and reasoning as to why this is, and what this will mean for the major. We then shift to the continued growth of BO7, as recent stats have shown this game has had a strong base of players to start 2026, and BF6 is continuing to drop. We then close with the question of the future of Call of Duty. What will this title need to do in order to stay relevant in the next 5 years, and will it be around in 10-20 years like it already has since its first installment. What are your thoughts on the current top 4 teams in the CDL? Who do you think is going to be the standout team come Major 1, and who will fall short? Do you think BO7 will continue to grow as people take a chance on the game, or is it dead? Finally, what are your thoughts on the future of COD? Will it be around in 10 years or not? If so, what do you think the series needs to do to stay relevant? Please let us know as we discuss this and much more! Hope you all enjoy the episode and we'll see you next week. BLACK OPS 7 SEASON 1 RELOADED REVIEW AND OPTIC MAJOR SOON! | The COD Casuals Ep. 257

Welcome to episode #257 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we start off with some talk regarding the new era of the CDL. As Slasher has officially retired, Dashy has now become the most veteran COD player in the CDL currently, and we reflect on how long we have been watching these players, and what the league will look like in the next 5-10 years roster-wise. We then shift to the most recent set of matches, and the big news surrounding LAT and their struggles. The fans and critics are calling for a change, and the question is will that solve their problems? We discuss the situation they are in, and what our opinions are on the team and their potential moves going into Major 1. Finally, we end with some season 1 reloaded talk, as we have a new event going on, along with some fan favorite remasters coming into the map pool, and hopefully into the CDL after major 1. When did you start watching the CDL? Have you seen the shift in players as the years have gone on? What do you think about the Thieves and their current struggles? What should their next move be? What are your first impressions of the new maps in season 1 reloaded?  Please let us know as we discuss this and much more! THE BEST ERA OF CALL OF DUTY, AI IN GAMING, BO7 SEASON 1 RELOADED? | | The COD Casuals Ep. 256

Welcome to episode #256 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we start off with a talk about the old guard in gaming, and who from the OG era of Call of Duty is still actively playing, from the originals to current day. This is brought up as the conversation shifts to AI in gaming, and how this will more than likely be the most prevalent addition to games in the future, and its role in creating games is what is up for debate. We discuss the main question; Is AI good or bad for gaming, and what needs to be done about its role in creating new games? This no doubt has been used for years, and is becoming more common in games we play like Call of Duty. With season 1 reloaded on the horizon, and ranked play discussions rising as we close in on season 2, we discuss some ideas that we think would make the experience even better. We share our thoughts on what ranked will be like this year, and how we think it’ll play compared to previous years.  Do you think there’s lots of gamers left from 20 years ago that still play? What do you think about AI in gaming? Is it a good move for developers and publishers to invest heavily in it, or should its use be limited? Finally, what do you think of our suggestions for ranked play this year? Though unlikely much will change, do you feel that anything really needs to? Please let us know as we discuss this and much more! THE DOWNFALL OF FAZE CLAN?! | BLACK OPS 7 ZOMBIES | The COD Casuals Ep. 255

Welcome to episode #255 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we finally get our hands on the zombies experience in Black Ops 7! From two people who are the most casual of casual zombies players, we give our initial thoughts on the two maps so far, the story, gameplay, and more! Zombies as a mode  has been in a tough place over the past couple of years, but you can always rely on Treyarch to pull through, and it seems that they have with this year’s zombies. Along with this, we cover our experience with the easter egg in 1 map, and what we think Treyarch is trying to do with the “Ashes of the Damned” idea of zombies being an open-world experience. We share our thoughts on if this is where zombies’ future lies, as the large, battle-royale-type maps still succeed. We also touch on the end of FaZe Clan, and what this meant to the gaming community, and what lies for the future of the brand. Have you given zombies a chance so far? If so, what do you think of it? Does it compare to previous years, or does it rank a lot higher or lower? What are your opinions on the open-world zombies maps with driving? Do you think this is where zombies should go in the future, or stick to the standard round-based system we have had forever? Please let us know as we discuss this and much more! BLACK OPS 7 GRIND CONTINUES AND PLAYER SALARIES LEAKED?! | The COD Casuals Ep. 254

Welcome to episode #254 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we start off with how season 1 has been coming along for us so far, and how we have been avoiding burnout in this game. Every year we see people play nonstop at the beginning of the year, only to then fall off towards the end of the year and barely play. With the support multiplayer has gotten and with ranked play rumored to be coming in season 2, we share our opinions on why we haven’t felt burned out, and what we are looking forward to working on when ranked is released. Finally, we close with a discussion around the challengers scene for competitive COD. Many new names are surfacing, and people are claiming that some of these players are the next superstars in the CDL. We give our thoughts on challengers right now, the growth it’s been experiencing, and if we think some of these players will make their debut this season. What are your thoughts on COD burnout? Do you usually experience it, and if not, what do you do to keep yourself busy playing? Are you staying motivated knowing that ranked play is coming out? Finally, what do you think about the next class of professional players? Will we see these top amateurs make their debut this year, or will they have to wait? Please let us know as we discuss this and much more! IS CALL OF DUTY IN TROUBLE? | MW4 2026 RUMORS! | The COD Casuals Ep. 253

Welcome to episode #253 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we dive into some breaking news regarding the future of Call of Duty. As stated by Activision, Call of Duty will no longer do back to back releases for the same developer/series, meaning we will return to the original formula of developers alternating years in the hopes of a more developed game. This begs the question though if they should have COD on a two-year release cycle. What are the benefits of this move, and what are the challenges they would face? Along with this, we discuss a leaked rumor regarding the state of next year’s COD title, and things are not looking good so far. We share our thoughts on what has been rumored, and what is the best path for COD going forward so Activision can hold up to their statement of “we will deliver, and overdeliver, on those expectations going forward.” Finally, we close with our CDL review as we go into the winter break, and share our thoughts on where each team stands currently. What do you think of the move back to alternating years for developers for COD? Do you think this will lend itself into more successful development cycles and produce better games, or is there a bigger issue that needs to be resolved? What do you think of the “MW4” rumors? Finally, what are your biggest takeaways from the first two weekends of the CDL?  Please let us know as we discuss this and much more! Hope you all enjoy the episode and we'll see you next week. BLACK OPS 7 SEASON 1 THOUGHTS AND THE CDL IS BACK! | The COD Casuals Ep. 252

Welcome to episode #252 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we break down the first official week of the CDL for Black Ops 7, and we are thrilled to finally have it here. After a few pre-season matches that we covered in past episodes, we finally get to see where most of the teams stand as of now. We break down the matches, who were the stars to look out for, and which teams we feel are already in danger. This is the most competitive year we have had in the CDL, and performing well early in the season is a must. Along with the CDL, the new sniper rule of 2 lives with a sniper per SnD match has been used, and we give our thoughts on this ridiculous rule, and why we should just have snipers in like every other weapon. Finally, we close with our first impressions of the new season 1 maps, and which ones we hope will make it into competitive. Did you get to watch the first week of matches? If so, what are your initial takeaways? Who are your top teams, and who do you feel is going to surf the bottom of the standings? Finally, what are your first impressions on the new season 1 maps and weapons? Did they deliver, or was it underwhelming? Please let us know as we discuss this and much more!
