Perspective is EVERYTHING!
It’s been rare, in my experience, to be able to find a pastor so young who is packed with wisdom like Glenn. Yes, he’s educated. Yes, he grew up abroad. Yes, he married an Iowa farm girl. And he’s a musician (left brain thinker). But, I think what truly seems to define him for me is the furnace of trials he’s had to walk through at a young age, being in a big church with a pastor that had a fall from grace, and a later church tragedy. Those events, I’d imagine, caused an intense introspection, not just personal life, but into his own faith. Couple everything he’s experienced with an ability to simplify sometimes complex theological perspectives into easy-to-understand verbiage and you’ve got Glenn. Strongly suggest you buy his book (The Resilient Pastor).
Great Encouragement
It’s not as glitzy or catchy as other podcasts, but it is not trying to be. Whereas other podcasts are using gimmicks to catch your attention so that listeners will buy something, this podcast is simple, straight forward and delivers helpful content. As an aspiring pastor (read: not yet), I find myself emboldened by the guests and topics. Definitely worth a follow.
A podcast that understands pastoral challenges
Thank for bringing your message to pastors around the world. Even before Covid-19, we have struggled to navigate leading God’s people and ourselves. Each episode brings clarity, hope, and insight without bbeing pollyannish. Keep these conversations coming. Thanks.
