Episode 341 – Tell Me What You Want

Everyone agrees that there are only two kinds of people in this world: Spice Girls people and Backstreet Boys people.  But what if we put aside our differences and used the lessons taught by both super groups to get to the heart of our weight loss and fitness goals?  This week, Catherine and Donald talk about the first step in BJ Fogg’s Behavior Design model; clarify the aspiration.  When you set a nebulous “pie in the sky” goal, it can make it difficult to figure out how to get there.  Asking yourself what you want and why, can narrow your focus and make the habits involved clearer.  Plus, Catherine swim, swam, swums, Donald does not rock the flannel, and women’s puns are good, but men’s puns are bad.

Episode 340 – This is the Weigh

If you’re a space bounty hunter travelling with your adopted child, you probably don’t worry too much about weighing yourself. On the other hand, if you’ve had life-long weight issues you probably worry about it a lot. Maybe too much. Or maybe not enough. Developing a healthy relationship with the scale can be a difficult minefield to navigate. This week, Catherine and Donald walk you through seven tips for using the scale in a way that works best for you. It’s kind of like using The Force; there’s a light side and a dark side. Plus, Catherine explains the “Axioms of Feminometry”, Donald is also known as “Jimmy A-plus-ichinson”, and marriage is about one-upmanship.

Episode 339 – N.E.A.T. Me in St. Louis

Summertime is traditionally a time for beaches, pools, road trips and vacations. This week, the couple give you some basic tips on navigating the summer vacation season while still keeping your health and fitness goals in mind. A vacation doesn’t have to mean saying goodbye to all of your healthy habits. Episode 338 – WOLT Hot American Summer

Episode 338 – WOLT Hot American Summer

For some, the official start of summer means BBQs and vacations.  For others, it means getting stuck in a rut.  This week, Catherine and Donald help you look at the summer and adapt your health and fitness routine to the season.  Maybe that means moving your activity outdoors and maybe it means moving it into air conditioning; either way it means moving yourself towards your goals.  Plus, Catherine gets singular, not possessive, Donald drowns in berries, and there’s a Karen riot over Halloween decorations.

Inspirational

If you’re interested in weight loss, fitness, making habit/lifestyle changes, or improving your mindset, then this is the podcast for you!

This is by far my favorite podcast, and the only podcast where I’ve listened to episodes more than once (some many times!) Catharine and Donald are truly inspirational people who have helped me personally through a dark time in my life. They’re relatable, humorous, honest, and give such genuinely good advice. I truly appreciate all the work that they put into this podcast, and for continuing to be inspirational week in and week out. Health is a lifelong goal, and a struggle for many of us, and this podcast has helped to keep me grounded as I face challenges in daily life. The fact that they don’t monetize with ads (like most podcasts) and have continued weekly for 6+ years is amazing and a testament to their dedication.

Some favorites episodes: Pump up the volume, Sowing the seeds of grub, The motivation bus, There’s no i in quit, the valley of disappointment, 10 things I ate about you (all 3!), Begin again again, and so many more.

Thank you both for everything you do! ❤️

Funny, motivational, and of course- an inspiration.

I recently found this podcast and starting with the first one have worked my way up to over episode 100. Catherine and Donald are absolutely hilarious. Their success is (all jokes aside) so inspirational, and their frank discussion of the daily struggle keeps my expectations grounded in reality. Like many, I have gained and lost the same pounds over and over for decades without managing to stay at/near my desired weight and fitness level- and have gained more weight than before each time. Tips, encouragement, laughs, their age (near mine) and references, wordplay- they feel like old friends. I highly recommend this podcast for someone on a health/wellness/weight loss journey. Adventure. Journ-venture. ❤️

Kelly-Krause9 ,

Love you guys!

I’ve made it one of my daily helpful habits to listen to one episode a day (new listener here, so I started back at the beginning of the pod!) and it has really helped me keep my spirits high and my weight loss adventure top of mind! I often find myself quoting the pod to my husband with “must be nice” and other silly anecdotes to keep what can be a stressful journey into a fun and happy ADVENTURE! Thanks for taking the trauma out of weight loss and helping me get back to the basics. Down 7 pounds since I started listening 🤩
