Breaking the Taboo–Period. How Carinne Chambers-Saini, CEO and Founder of DivaCup is Leading the Femcare Revolution

The topic of menstruation and period care products has long been stigmatized. Though femcare is expected to reach $42.7 billion by 2022, the industry has remained relatively stagnant for decades. Breaking down the barriers to innovation first requires breaking longstanding taboos – and that’s exactly what Carinne Chambers-Saini intends to do.
As the CEO and founder of DivaCup, she is shaking up the femcare market by taking the concept of menstrual cups from niche to mainstream. DivaCup is revolutionizing the period experience, providing the most eco-friendly, clean, and comfortable way to address menstrual care on the market today.

In this episode of WorkParty, I’m sitting down with Carinne to chat about overcoming adversity, balancing purpose and profit, and finally breaking taboo–period.

Going Digital: How Glamour Magazine’s Samantha Barry Is Bringing a Digital-First Focus to Women’s Media

For years, there’s been talk about how the publishing industry is in decline. But the demand for content has never been higher.

So it’s up to publishers to adapt—which is where today's guest Samantha Barry comes in. Since leaving her post as the head of social media at CNN to take on the role of editor-in-chief of Glamour Magazine in 2016, the editor has been at the forefront of the industry’s shift from print to digital.
Shortly after she took the reins at Glamour, the publication announced the end of its monthly print edition—and she’s since led the brand to amass digital accomplishments. I'm happy to virtually sit down with Samantha to talk about her impressive career, from how she made the pivot from news to women’s media to why culture-pushing content is at the core of Glamour’s digital-first strategy and what the future holds for the next generation of journalists.

I think I like it?

I’m a big fan of Create & Cultivate and they have great guests. The woman who reads the intros could use a bit of work. She mispronounced Ouai in the latest episode which is the brand founded by their guest, Jen Atkin. Seems unprofessional.
