Every day, hundreds of people go about their lives with no idea that someone has paid to have them killed. In the depths of the dark net, tech journalist Carl Miller makes a disturbing discovery: a secret “kill list” targeting hundreds of innocent people on a murder-for-hire website. When the police are slow to investigate, Carl is thrown into a race against time to warn those in danger and uncover the truth before it’s too late. From Wondery and Novel comes a shocking true story about obsession, control and the price of life and death. Follow the Kill List on the Wondery App or wherever you get your podcasts. So good! A must listen

I’d heard of the FBI monitoring a murder for hire site on the dark web years ago, but how they came to that point was a complete mystery so its really interesting hearing exactly who was involved, “the origin” story. Great podcast! Thank goodness for the ongoing stories after the crucial initial 6 episodes! I NEED all these followups, 2025 obsession.
Absorbing listening

This pod needs a warning label about its addictiveness. It is so well done in terms of clarity and storytelling - very important with multiple storylines running over different episodes, countries, and perpetrators and victims. Cheers to that wonderfully stoic Swedish woman whose husband living in the next town to her has paid for a hitman on the dark web to kill her. All the stories are just plain engrossing and Carl and the producers are sympathetic and caring towards those who have been unknowingly targeted.
Ep. Cedar City
26/12/2024
I’ve really enjoyed this podcast! I just wanted to point out that in the episode Cedar City, where it talks about “biblical spanking” the proverb they’re likely referring to is often taken out of context. The word “Rod” in the Bible means stick or staff, like that used by a shepherd. It’s often used symbolically to represent authority. Shepherds didn’t spank their sheep, they used their staff to gently guide them where to go. So the proverb is encouraging parents to guide their children. Ps 23:4 says “your rod and staff reassure me” this reassurance is unlikely talking about a form of physical punishment. It helps to look at more than one scripture to get an overall picture and better understanding of context. Hope that helps!
Fine for filling long silences

Ok story, keeps you hooked enough to keep listening, but when you reflect on what you’ve listened to, you realise it’s lacking substance. Pacing is a bit off because the more gripping parts are few and far between. The majority of the episodes is taken up by whinging and melodrama on behalf of the host. Needs more focus on the story overall; host makes it all about him. Suck it up buttercup.
