These horses LOVE their work. 29:39 The Breeding Shed is very clean, very surveilled (!), and a fascinating place to learn about matchmaking thousand-pound animals without injury and with the best chance for healthy foals. 31.39 The preparation of the mares includes special preparation and equipment. There’s also a visitation from a “teaser,” a warm-up stallion who cruises by her stall to check if she’s receptive. 35:47 The schedule is packed during breeding season from February to July/August. Foals gestate from 11-12 months. Long pregnancy! 39:25 Clients pay stud fees only after the birth of a healthy foal. We learned a ton and hope you enjoyed it, too!
