MICAHCHRISTENSEN.COM Micah Christensen | MFDA, PhD Micah is a scholar of European, Asian, and American fine art, porcelain, and decorative objects. He earned his doctorate in the History of Art from University College London, where he travelled throughout Spain, Italy, France, and United Kingdom to study how artists were trained in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. He received his Masters in Fine Art from Sotheby’s Institute (London). There he worked with the founder of the Antiques Home Roadshow and other experts in the London auction world. Micah has lectured extensively, including at the British Library. He is currently a partner at Anthony’s Fine Art & Antiques (Salt Lake City) and a Board Member of the Springville Museum of Art. He regularly lectures on continues to lecture, write, and consult with public institutions and private collectors. He is a co-author of the Dictionary of Utah Fine Artists. Micah currently sits on the Advisory Board of PleinAir Magazine.

London Revisited: The Road to Civil War

When James VI of Scotland arrived in London in 1603 to become the first ‘King of Great Britain’, expectations were high. They were soon disappointed, not least for the Catholics who tried to blow him and half of Westminster up in 1605. But the plot failed, and with James’s reign came a new, lavish court life, the emergence of the first newspapers amid the booming print industry around St Paul’s, and, with the guidance of Inigo Jones, the arrival of the renaissance in London’s architecture with the development of Covent Garden and the first of the city’s squares. To continue her story of London, Rosemary is joined again by Vanessa Harding to see why James’s Stuart settlement eventually failed under the personal rule of Charles I, leading to a civil war in which London became the financial and military headquarters for the victorious Parliamentarians and James’s grand new banqueting house at Whitehall was used as the backdrop for his son’s execution. "Bloody and Bruised, But So Proud": Becca Freeman on Finishing a Hard Second Book

Krisserin and Kelton check in on a week that went sideways for one of them and sideways-but-productive for the other. Becca talks about becoming a writer after years as a lifelong reader, how she spent her first year and a half of drafting telling herself it was "just for me," and how her podcast and platform led to an agent outside the traditional query process.
