Ep. 629: Having A Crush Outside Of Your Relationship

We’re pretty sensitive to cheating and the harm it causes a person (we’ll give you three guesses as to why) so we found ourselves wondering if are crushes ever okay while you’re still in a relationship? There’s no stopping the rush of feelings when it comes to having a crush, but we do have some say over our actions and every single one of us knows when too far becomes too far. Fantasizing may not be a red flag, but hiding and secrecy sure are. Look, when it comes to crushes, we think the best course of action is pretty damn simple: don’t f*****g do anything that you wouldn’t want your partner to do to you. Ep. 627: Dating is Dead

Trying to find love has been a shit show since… well, forever. We’re just getting better and better with age, but the dating scene, and let’s be honest, men in general, seem to be getting worse. Dating apps are dead, singles events make us feel like pigs being sold for slaughter, and meeting someone out in the wild is next to impossible. Even if you meet someone, the chance that they know what they want in a relationship, are emotionally mature, AND you find them attractive is rare, too. All that said, we’re still holding on to hope that the right person is out there. Cynicism feels safe, but we still believe in magic. We’re too old and tired for NYC [2:05] A less than stellar AI event [6:51] No more ice-breaker activities [15:24] Lore-dumping [20:19] Living your “truth” [23:21] Men aren’t suffering enough [25:15] The state of dating apps [30:02] Attempting to stay optimistic [35:10] Safety in cynicism [37:01] Love can’t be understood via algorithm [41:01] Where do you even meet people now? Ep. 626: ChatGPT Ended My Relationship

We would probably all agree that listening in on your partner’s therapy sessions or reading their journals is wrong, but what about reading their ChatGPT history? More and more people are working through issues in their personal lives using their AI chatbots as a journal-meets-therapist, and that might include relationship issues. And when someone inevitably finds some less than flattering information about themselves typed out to their partner’s own personal robot… shit gets sticky. Everyone is entitled to their privacy, but with new technologies, do new lines need to be drawn? Walking around with a lady boner [1:02] A very special wedding [7:30] Being seen from your bad side [13:35] Seeing your partner’s ChatGPT history [16:45] An erosion of safety [20:12] Is there an obligation to communicate every little issue? Ep. 623: We Create What We Consume

Our algorithms feed us the things we consume the most, and unfortunately for us, we love looking at memes about men being evil. But as funny as the people of the internet are, we do want to be mindful of what we’re consuming because what consumer colors our perception of the world—and believe it or not, we don’t actually hate men. But the same thing is true for memes about being broke, fat, ugly, or any other negative thing we could call ourselves. If we take too much of it in, it starts to become our reality, and that’s not the Best Life we dreamed for ourselves, all those years ago. In the new studio [0:59] The importance of meeting your neighbors [3:08] You create what you consume [6:04] Relating to a reality you don’t want [9:06] It’s hard to look away from a train-wreck [12:22] We all need higher standards [13:51] Making peace with being alone [15:42] Don’t let things outside your control ruin your life [18:13] When are we crossing into delusion? [25:50] What reality do you want to have? [30:05] Money isn’t moral [34:04] Knowing who your true friends are [39:59] Don’t let your algorithm happen to you [42:41] Subscribe to The Lighthouse Letters https://dannyjdotcom.substack.com/ Don’t forget to leave us a review and subscribe so you never have to miss an episode! Ep. 622: Are Men More Emotional Than Women?

No one is more dramatic than a man who gets his advances rejected. We don’t mean to speak for every woman, but also… we’re pretty sure every single woman has either had an experience where a man lashed out at her for saying no, or she had to lie instead of saying no out of fear of backlash. We’ve heard men complain that they “can’t even approach women in public anymore” but we have no problem with being approached! The issue is that men just don’t seem to be able to take “no” for an answer. Our advice to men? Just be normal. Please, for the love of god, just be f*****g normal.  Jill’s big move [1:54] Long drives and nights in the hot tub [5:25] No one is more emotional than a man who gets rejected [8:34] When someone says no, walk away [15:35] Saying yes out of fear of what comes after the no [17:33] Just be normal [24:59] It doesn’t have to be personal [29:37] Just be a bitch [32:25] Subscribe to The Lighthouse Letters https://dannyjdotcom.substack.com/ Don’t forget to leave us a review and subscribe so you never have to miss an episode!
