Hormones and the Hijacked Brain: EQ, IQ, SQ

Standing in the pantry crying. Forgetting why you walked into a room. Snapping at your husband and thinking, who was that? Dr. Tabatha and Ashlee unpack why your brain feels hijacked in perimenopause - and introduce a framework almost nobody's talking about: your IQ, your EQ, and your SQ (spiritual quotient). This episode is equal parts science and grace. You'll learn why declining estrogen affects memory, word-finding, and emotional regulation, why your emotional capacity can shrink even when your emotional intelligence hasn't, and how leaning on your spiritual quotient - not just your willpower - is what actually gets you through this season. In this episode Why perimenopause makes you feel like you don't recognize yourself The real reason for brain fog, word-finding trouble, and mood swings IQ vs. EQ vs. SQ - and why the third one matters most Treating your brain like an iPhone with too many tabs open Emotions as messengers, not directives Three questions to ask yourself every day during this season Scripture referenced James 1:2-8 - "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." Colonoscopy Or Stool Test?

You'll spend more time picking your next Netflix show than deciding whether to get screened for colon cancer. Dr. Tabatha just had her own colonoscopy - and she's using it to answer the question so many women ask: do I actually need one, or is a stool test enough? She and Ashlee break down what a colonoscopy does (and doesn't) catch, why colon cancer is rising in younger adults, what actually causes disease in the colon, and how to prep for and recover from the procedure if you need one. This isn't an anti-screening episode - it's a "screening isn't the same as building health" episode. You'll learn the difference between a colonoscopy and an at-home stool test, when each one makes sense, the real risks and stats behind colon cancer today, and the diet and lifestyle factors that matter far more than any single procedure. In this episode Why colon cancer is rising in younger adults - and what's driving it Colonoscopy vs. at-home stool testing: what each one actually checks for "Franken foods" and what ultra-processed eating does to your colon How to prep for a colonoscopy without the dread What to do after the procedure to support gut healing How menopause changes your colon health Scripture referenced Proverbs 4:26 - "Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways." Toxic Burden with Amy Henderson

Fatigue you can't explain. Brain fog. Weight that won't budge no matter what you try. Dr. Tabatha and functional medicine practitioner Amy Henderson connect the dots on toxic burden - the accumulation of everyday toxins your body is quietly storing, and why your fat cells might be protecting you rather than betraying you. Amy breaks down where toxins actually come from (hint: it's not just "dirty" environments - newer homes and golf-course neighborhoods carry real risk too), how your liver processes them in phases, and the simple, seasonal habit that helps your body finally let go of what it's been holding onto. In this episode Why your fat cells might be protecting you from toxins, not betraying you The golf course example: why affluent neighborhoods aren't automatically "clean" Mold and mycotoxins - why newer, tightly-sealed homes are often more at risk The three phases of liver detoxification, and why order matters A real client testimonial from the 3-2-1 Liver Detox Kit Simple, everyday swaps that lower your toxic load without fear or overwhelm Scripture referenced Jeremiah 30:17 - "But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord." Postpartum Symptoms That Never Left with Dr. Alexandra MacKillop

Dr. Tabatha sits down with functional medicine doctor Dr. Alexandra MacKillop to unpack the postpartum symptoms nobody warned you about - the ones that started after your babies and never left. Thyroid issues, insulin resistance, mood shifts, autoimmune flares - if you've been told "of course you're tired, you just had a baby," this episode is your permission to dig deeper. Whether your babies are newborns or grown, this episode is for you. Dr. Tabatha and Ashlee talk with Dr. Alexandra MacKillop, author of The Postpartum Check-In, about the hormone shifts pregnancy and childbirth leave behind - thyroid disorders, insulin resistance, nutritional gaps, and mood changes that get written off as "normal" and never actually resolve. You'll learn what to ask your doctor for, why the postpartum period is a medical blind spot, and how to finally connect the dots on symptoms you gave up trying to explain. In this episode Why postpartum hormone shifts can predispose you to health issues decades later The thyroid testing most women never get - and why it matters Gestational diabetes, insulin resistance, and the follow-up that rarely happens A testosterone story that saved a marriage Why pregnancy is basically a stress test for your future health A rapid-fire round: normal, common but deserves attention, or needs evaluation? Scripture referenced Psalm 139:13-14 - "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made." Obedience Over Perfection

Are you a perfectionist, a dabbler, or a denier? Dr. Tabatha and Ashlee sit down with FTF coach Marilyn, who traded perfection for obedience and found more peace in her mid-50s than ever before. A real talk on surrender, identity in Christ, and why God is calling you now, not once you feel ready. Perfectionist. Dabbler. Denier. Dr. Tabatha names the three ways women avoid the truth about their health - and their faith. Then she and Ashlee sit down with Fast to Faith coach Marilyn Bright, a recently retired New Jersey school administrator turned faith-based health coach, who spent decades doing faith "in isolation" - a checklist of prayer and exercise she performed and then shelved before the stress of the day undid it. Marilyn shares what changed when she stopped trying to earn her way to perfect before letting God in, and started bringing Him all of her instead - her work, her marriage, her body, her mess. She walks through her path from the $5 Challenge to the 40-Day Program to the Coaching Academy, why the weekly Monday calls became "sacred" to her, and how surrender in obedience means moving before she feels ready, not after. In Marilyn's own words: "I came to Fast to Faith to lose weight; but what I found was and continues to be a transformation - learning to love my whole self instead of trying to punish my body into weight loss." In this episode ●      The three ways women avoid the truth: perfectionist, dabbler, denier ●      Why "it's easier to perform for God than to sit still for God" ●      How Marilyn moved from a faith checklist to giving God all of her ●      The lie that you must be perfect before God will bless you ●      Martha and Mary - producing vs. being present with Jesus ●      What weekly coaching and community accountability actually does ●      The power of praying for one another in the Fast to Faith sisterhood ●      This week's charge: be still and know that He is God Scripture referenced ●      Psalm 46:10 - "Be still, and know that I am God." ●      John 10:10 - "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." ●      Luke 15 - The Prodigal Son ●      Luke 10:38-42 - Martha and Mary About Marilyn Marilyn Bright is a wife, mom, recently retired school administrator, and now a faith-based health coach from Berlin, New Jersey. Healing Emotional Eating at the Root

Dr. Tabatha and Ashlee pull back the curtain on their coaching calls, rapid-firing real questions from Fast to Faith coaches: childhood wounds behind emotional eating, the truth about protein and hair loss, the vagus nerve and cortisol, and how to spot when you are underfueled. Plus one simple prayer practice for a better night's sleep, starting tonight.  In This Episode:  ●       A coaching academy rapid-fire: real questions Fast to Faith coaches are hearing on their weekly calls, answered live. ●       How childhood wounds and attachment injuries show up as emotional eating, FOMO around food, and old hurt surfacing mid-program. ●       Why your subconscious actually lives in your heart, not just your brain, and how to ask God to rewrite the programming running your food choices. ●       The right way to journal versus venting into a diary, and why gratitude shifts what your brain starts looking for. ●       What protein actually does for weight loss, and why 150 grams a day does nothing if you are sedentary. ●       The truth about protein and hair loss (hint: it is probably not your protein intake). ●       One thing to do tonight for better sleep: handing your worry list to God before your head hits the pillow. ●       Mid-roll: Mag Lift — magnesium support for sleep, blood sugar, and mood. ●       Red flags for underfueling: poor workout recovery, the 2 to 3pm crash, falling asleep on the couch after dinner. Immovable Faith Under Stress

You feel closer to God than you've ever been. Your faith is sturdy. And your body is falling apart anyway. What's wrong with you? Nothing. Your body keeps the score. Dr. Tabatha and Ashlee sit down with Lindsey Welch - wife of entrepreneur and podcast host Taylor Welch, mother, business owner, woman of deep faith - for a conversation about immovable faith. Not faith that never feels fear. Faith that gets tested and keeps choosing God anyway. Lindsey held her family together while her husband's business faced public scrutiny and an FTC investigation. She prayed. She worked. She stayed calm on the outside. Then a biofeedback test came back with nine autoimmune markers. Her estrogen and progesterone - the hormones that regulate mood, energy, and her cycle - were gone. Her serotonin, the brain chemical that stabilizes mood, was burned through completely. In the middle of it, she heard God speak. Clearly. "Remember when you built this house? I had you write scripture on the walls. If you keep going, your daughter is watching, and she is going to fall the way you learned it in your family line. You need to break this cycle." She broke it. It took eight months. This episode is for the woman in the car who can't make herself go inside yet. For the one holding her family together and wondering who's holding her. For anyone who has believed God is good and still felt afraid. Closing scripture: 1 John 4:18 - "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear." Ready to stop guessing and start healing? You Are Not Broken — Awaken. Restore. Rise.

300 episodes ago, Dr. Tabatha started with one idea: your body is not broken. Today she and Ashlee open up about six years of change, the problem with the word "awakening," and the Awaken, Restore, Rise framework carrying Fast to Faith forward. You are not broken. You can heal. You're in the right place. In this Episode:   ●        300 episodes in, Dr. Tabatha and Ashlee pull back the curtain on the story underneath every conversation: you are not broken, and you can heal.  ●        Six years of evolution — from The Functional Gynecologist to The Gutsy Gynecologist to Fast to Faith — and what changed when they stopped working for God and started working with Him.  ●        The real story behind the first 50 episodes: Garage Band, hours of editing out nervous "ums," and showing up scared anyway.  ●        Dr. Tabatha is joining Candace Cameron Bure on an 8-city tour — the next chapter of using her voice.  ●        The problem with the word "awakening" — why the aha moment isn't the finish line, and what happens when the momentum runs out.  ●        Unpacking the three-act story of Fast to Faith: Awaken, Restore, Rise — and why you don't move through all three at once.  ●        What "Rise" actually looks like, and why the Coaching Academy isn't just for women building a business.  ●        Why you'll never feel ready, and why that's not the sign to wait.  ●        Closing scripture: Joel 2:25.  Ready to stop guessing and start healing?
