Brad Pitt Is Back On The Booze - My Views!

Brad Pitt is reportedly drinking again after around seven years of sobriety, and as you can imagine, everyone has an opinion. So, I thought I'd share mine. For me, this isn't about judging or shaming someone for making a personal choice. We're all wonderfully unique, and our relationship with alcohol is deeply personal. What works for one person might be completely wrong for another. But when someone as famous and influential as Brad changes their relationship with alcohol, it can have an impact. I know this because I've experienced something similar myself. Around 18 months into my own alcohol-free adventure, seeing someone close to my journey return to drinking made me question whether I should do the same. In this episode, I explore moderation, willpower, recovery, personal choice, and why ultimately the only relationship with alcohol that really matters is your own. If your life is better without alcohol, why would you put it back in? What You'll Learn: Why everyone's relationship with alcohol is completely unique Why someone else's decision to drink again can make you question your own My own experience of nearly returning to alcohol Why I believe moderation can become a difficult experiment with willpower Why your own lived experience matters more than anybody else's choices Timestamps: 00:00 – 04:00 Brad Pitt, sobriety and why everyone's journey is different 04:00 – 08:00 My alcohol-free journey and finding the middle lane 08:00 – 12:00 The moment I nearly went back to drinking 12:00 – 16:00 Moderation, willpower and running the experiment 16:00 – End If your life is better without alcohol, why drink? And if this episode has inspired you to explore coaching, I'd love to invite you to discover my training at Coach Business School, including the opportunity to train in life coaching, executive coaching and Alcohol-Free Performance Coaching. Why Moderators Are Liars

Moderation sounds like the sensible middle ground. One or two drinks, stay in control, and carry on. But I think there's a problem with that story. For me, moderation means wanting more of something but using willpower to force yourself to have less. And when willpower inevitably runs low, one drink can become two, two can become five, and suddenly we're wondering what went wrong. In this episode, I unpack why I believe moderation creates more mental noise than freedom, how confirmation bias convinces us we're better at moderating than we really are, and why those people who can nurse one drink all night might not be moderators at all. Most importantly, I explore what happens when you stop negotiating with alcohol altogether and discover the peace, confidence, and freedom on the other side. What You'll Learn: Why moderation relies so heavily on willpower How confirmation bias distorts the story we tell ourselves about drinking Why one or two drinks can so easily become five The difference between a moderator and what I call a "non-drinker in disguise" Why going alcohol-free removes the constant negotiation and mental noise Timestamps: 00:00 – 03:00 Why I believe moderation is doomed to fail 03:00 – 06:00 Confirmation bias and the moderation story 06:00 – 09:00 Why two drinks can so easily become five 09:00 – 11:00 The "non-drinker in disguise" 11:00 – End Escaping the noise of moderation and choosing alcohol-free If this episode has inspired you to explore coaching, I'd love to invite you to join my Diploma in Coaching & Positive Psychology (DCPP) cohort and train to become a life and executive coach, and specialise in Alcohol-Free Performance coaching.  Apply here: Diploma in Coaching & Positive Psychology And don't forget to follow the podcast so you never miss an episode. It Pains Me To Say This. But Someone Has To.

This is one of the hardest truths I've ever had to accept. No one becomes a better person because of a drink. That doesn't mean people who drink are bad people. Far from it. It means alcohol never helps us become more authentic, more present, or more connected. It simply creates the illusion that it does. In this episode, I explore why alcohol convinces us we're becoming the person we want to be, why that illusion is so powerful, and why the greatest transformation begins when you finally meet the real you. What You'll Learn: Why alcohol creates the illusion of becoming a better version of yourself The difference between your authentic self and your alcohol-fuelled self How alcohol quietly fills the "gaps" we believe exist in our personality Why confidence built on alcohol is never lasting confidence The freedom that comes from showing up as your true self Timestamps: 00:00 – 02:00 The uncomfortable truth about alcohol 02:00 – 06:00 Why alcohol tricks us into believing we're better people 06:00 – 10:00 The illusion of confidence and "filling the gaps" in our personality 10:00 – 14:00 What authenticity really looks like without alcohol 14:00 – End Why your authentic self is your greatest superpower If this episode has inspired you to explore coaching, I'd love to invite you to join my Diploma in Coaching & Positive Psychology (DCPP) cohort and train to become a life and executive coach. What if the secret to transforming your mornings isn't another productivity hack? What if it's removing the one thing that's stealing them in the first place? For years, I believed I didn't have time. I thought I was too busy, too tired, and too stretched to exercise, study, write, or work on the life I really wanted. Hero On A Monday, Zero On A Thursday!

For years, I thought I was showing up at my best on a Monday. Looking back, I wasn't even close. Like so many people, I was caught in a cycle of drinking, recovering, surviving, and calling it normal. I had no idea just how much alcohol was quietly stealing from me, not just my health, but my energy, ambition, focus, relationships, and productivity. In this episode, I explore why I believe alcohol is the world's biggest productivity killer, how it quietly puts a lid on our potential, and why removing it gives you an unfair advantage in every area of life. I also share the story of how going alcohol-free became one of the biggest competitive advantages in my own business, helping us break into one of the toughest industries imaginable. If you've ever wondered what life could look like if you consistently showed up as your best self, this episode is for you. My Greatest Fear About Going Dry, And It Might Be Yours Too!

When I first considered taking a break from alcohol, my biggest fear wasn't missing the drink. It was losing myself. Who would I be without alcohol? Would I still be fun? Would people still like me? Would I still be confident enough to walk into a room, dance at weddings, connect with people, and feel like I belonged? Looking back, I realise those fears had very little to do with alcohol and everything to do with identity. In this episode, I explore one of the biggest hidden challenges of going alcohol-free: rediscovering who you really are underneath the persona alcohol creates. I share my own experience, the stories I told myself for years, and why I now believe that finding your authentic self is one of the greatest gifts of this entire journey. What You'll Learn: Why fear of losing your identity keeps so many people stuck How alcohol creates a version of ourselves that isn't truly authentic The difference between confidence and alcohol-fuelled confidence Why authenticity is one of the greatest gifts of alcohol-free living How removing alcohol helps you reconnect with who you really are Timestamps: 00:00 – 04:00 My biggest fear about going alcohol-free04:00 – 08:00 The alcohol persona and losing touch with your authentic self 08:00 – 12:00 Why we fear being judged, rejected, or left behind 12:00 – 17:00 The power of showing up as the real you 17:00 – End The treasure waiting on the other side of alcohol-free living Going Dry Documentary PremiereJoin us for the first public screening of Going Dry at the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival on 8th July 2026 at Cinema Nova, Melbourne.
