I’m Dr. Carron Silva, Your Christian Trauma & Forgiveness Coach. I’ve spent the last 30 years seeking healing for sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, and healing from racial discrimination. What I’ve learned is that therapy could only take me so far. I believe that FORGIVENESS IS THE WAY TO INTERIOR FREEDOM, but we cannot do it alone. We need God, and in particular, Jesus, the Divine Physician, with the love of the Holy Spirit, to help us through a process of forgiveness and someone to hold the space while we do the work of healing.

On this podcast, I talk about all the things that help you develop a lifelong skill of forgiveness and empower you to forgive yourself, others, and God. I help you to discover the power within yourself to be able to move through your past painful experiences and see yourself and your perpetrators in a new way.

    S1E23 A Choleric Mom's Journey to Self-Forgiveness

    S1E23 A Choleric Mom's Journey to Self-Forgiveness

In this insightful podcast episode, we plunge deep into the psyche of the choleric temperament. We unravel nuances of anger and the therapeutic strength of forgiveness, through the lens of a choleric. The guest, Catherine Johnson, a Catholic Mindset Coach and mother, engages in a candid conversation about her battles with rage, mom guilt, and her path to forgiveness.
The podcast emphasizes understanding the choleric person's tendencies like direct communication, boundary-setting, and the propensity to set aside resentment for personal growth. It shines a light on obstacles commonly faced by cholerics when attempting to forgive, such as a reluctance to vulnerability, impatience, obstinacy, fear of exploitation, and empathy deficit. It further provides constructive approaches for cholerics to steer towards forgiveness, such as emotional recognition, conflict root identification, empathy exercises, assertiveness, and ego subdual.
In a particularly stirring segment, the mother takes us through her struggle of dealing with guilt, shame, and the arduous road to self-forgiveness. Her powerful insights teach us about genuine apologies to the child and the cruciality of self-pardon. The discussion gracefully transitions into how humility plays a crucial role in admitting our transgressions and in seeking forgiveness, from ourselves and those we hurt.
Whether you identify with the choleric temperament or are intrigued by this personality type's perspective on anger and forgiveness, this podcast will undoubtedly offer you valuable learnings and reflections. With a blend of vulnerability, humility, emotional intelligence, and an appropriate understanding of boundaries, this compelling episode presents a universal lesson in forgiveness that everyone can learn from.

S1E20 Understanding Love, Forgiveness and Divine Design

S1E20 Understanding Love, Forgiveness and Divine Design

Welcome to Episode 20 of the Forgiveness is for YOU Podcast. Today I talk about LOVE. What is love? What is self-love and what does it all have to do with forgiveness? What does it mean to love God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength, and to love our neighbor as ourselves? I explore the answers to these questions through the lens of the Theology of the Body and invite you to contemplate that who you are is how you forgive.
I contend that our primary caregivers influence our image of God, which could pose a challenge to the commandment to love God. But what if our understanding of love determined our relationship with God instead?

clpez ,

Just listened to the first episode and I am hooked!

I can relate to going through many modalities and approaches to heal wounds in my soul. It has been a slow process full of impatience but I never considered that I needed forgiveness because I didn’t think I consented to negative feelings towards people. Excited to learn what it is and how to reach it!

Such a Needed Podcast

So many people - including me - have a hard time with forgiveness. It's a very difficult concept that's even more difficult to execute.

Dr. Carron tells the hard-hitting truth about the necessity for forgiveness, yet she does it in a way that is tender and compassionate.

I am looking forward to more episodes, because even though I've forgiven that thing in my past, there will always be more opportunities to practice.

Freedom in the choice.

I have learned there is so much freedom in the choice or decision to forgive. Dr Carron is a great resource in sharing if so many good tools but she especially shines in her faith and her personal vulnerability. A big plus for me is how much she is able to share so much in a short time that makes it an easy choice to listen, receive, and learn.
