THE GOD WITHIN with Brady Hutchins | Ep. 481

Have you ever felt like you're doing all the "right" things—building your career, chasing success, checking the boxes—yet still feel like something is missing? If so, this episode is going to hit you right between the eyes and straight into your heart. This week on The Todd Durkin IMPACT Show, I sit down with a young man I've been business/life coaching in my Mastermind for a while. Brady Hutchins is a coach, author, and an overall IMPACT-maker with a great story. Brady recently released his new book, The God Within: Remembering Who You Are in a World That Tells You Who to Be, and in this episode, we unpack what it truly means to reconnect with your authentic self in a world constantly pulling you toward external validation. Brady shares his deeply personal story of navigating unimaginable adversity after a tragic car accident involving his father and younger brother, the lessons he learned from being forced to grow up fast, and how those experiences ultimately shaped his life's purpose. We also dive into the panic attack that became his wake-up call in 2022—a moment that forced him to examine whether he was living in alignment with who he truly was. Through powerful insights on identity, purpose, faith, leadership, personal growth, and the difference between living from fear versus living from love, this conversation will challenge you to stop looking outside yourself for answers and start reconnecting with the greatness that already exists within. Whether you're a high performer, entrepreneur, athlete, coach, parent, or simply someone searching for deeper meaning and fulfillment, this episode will inspire you to remember who you are and step into your true calling. WHAT YOU'LL LEARN IN THIS EPISODE: Why so many successful people still struggle with identity and fulfillment How Brady's personal tragedy became the catalyst for discovering his purpose The powerful story behind his new book, The God Within What "The God Within" actually means and why it applies to every single person The true meaning of enthusiasm and how it can transform your life How to identify the difference between your conditioned self and your authentic self Understanding the concept of "Magnetic North" versus your "True North" Why panic attacks, stress, and burnout can be important signals—not setbacks The daily practices Brady used to create greater alignment, peace, and resilience How meditation, breathwork, cold plunges, and coaching helped him expand his capacity The importance of auditing your decisions through the lens of love versus fear Why living from love creates greater impact, fulfillment, and freedom Practical strategies to reconnect with your purpose and become the person you were created to be How men in their 20s, 30s, and 40s can build an identity beyond career success and family roles The mindset shifts needed to live with greater authenticity, confidence, and purpose This episode is a reminder that your greatest power isn't something you have to earn, achieve, or chase—it's already within you. The challenge is learning to quiet the noise, break free from the expectations of the world, and reconnect with the person God created you to be. Brady's story is proof that even our greatest struggles can become the foundation for our greatest purpose when we're willing to do the inner work. If this conversation resonates with you, don't keep it to yourself. Please share it with a friend, family member, teammate, coach, spouse, or someone who needs this message right now. HOLY HEALTH: The Power of Obedience, Healing & Surrender | Ep. 480 with Justin Roethlingshoefer

We're bringing the HEAT this week as it's our very first LIVE in-person, podcast recording inside IMPACT-X Performance… and trust me, this conversation is going to hit your heart, challenge your mindset, and ignite your spirit. My guest is my good friend Justin Roethlingshoefer, a former NHL strength & conditioning coach turned founder of the powerful new "Holy Health" movement. Justin shares a ton of his insight on "Holy Health" along with a lot of his experiences with his client, Grammy-winning worship artist Brandon Lake, as they are doing a ton together to change many lives. What unfolds in this episode is nothing short of transformational. We dive deep into faith, healing, identity, purpose, obedience, leadership, burnout, and what it really means to steward your mind, body, soul, and calling God's way. Justin opens up like never before about the darkest season of his life after losing his NHL career, the moment God radically shifted his perspective while sitting alone in a kayak during COVID, and how that "yes" to obedience ultimately led him to Brandon Lake and a sold-out arena tour impacting hundreds of thousands of lives. If you've been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, burned out, anxious, uncertain about your next step, or hungry for more purpose and peace in your life… this episode is for YOU. In This Episode, You'll Learn: Why "the only thing that follows obedience is blessing" How Justin went from getting fired from the NHL to building the Holy Health movement The life-changing kayak moment that birthed the vision for Own It Why your identity cannot be tied to your performance What "Health Is Worship" truly means The exact rhythms and routines Brandon Lake used during his 50-show arena tour How anxiety, burnout, and striving steal your calling Why rest is NOT weakness — it's obedience The powerful lesson: "Don't force what you want now for what you actually want most" How Holy Health is helping thousands of people heal mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually Why leadership starts with culture and consistency The importance of surrendering EVERY area of your life to God — including your health How slowing down allows you to finally hear God speak What it means to create "health havens" in your environment and daily life The mindset shift that can radically change the way you lead, live, and love This conversation reminded me that impact doesn't come from having it all figured out… it comes from showing up, being obedient, serving people with all your heart, and trusting God with the outcome. Justin's story is proof that your greatest setback can become the setup for your greatest calling if you're willing to surrender, stay faithful, and keep going. Welcome back to today's podcast which is guaranteed to 'Get Your Mind Right' as we're diving deep into a Q&A episode that covers mental toughness, faith, fitness, purpose, raising strong kids in today's culture, mentorship, fulfillment, and how to stay grounded when life feels heavy…like real heavy. This episode really is all about getting your mind right. Because the enemy isn't just after your circumstances… he's after your thoughts. Your peace. Your mind. Your focus. Your faith. And in today's world—with stress, distractions, pressure, anxiety, and comparison coming at us from every angle—we've got to protect our mindset more than ever before. I share practical strategies, personal stories, mindset shifts, faith-filled encouragement, and some hard truths about what it really takes to stay strong mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually in this season of life. If you've been feeling stretched thin, overwhelmed, searching for deeper fulfillment, or simply needing a reset in your spirit and routines… this episode is for YOU. In This Episode, You'll Learn: The biggest fitness mistakes people make after age 40 My favorite hip mobility and flexibility exercises for longevity Why success without fulfillment still leaves people empty How to reinvent yourself at 40, 50, 60 or beyond The importance of mentorship and who's mentoring me right now What kids desperately need more of in today's culture Why discipline and truth matter more than ever The habits that have most propelled me forward in life and business How faith directly impacts performance and mental resilience Practical ways to stay mentally strong when life gets hard Why protecting your peace and guarding your thoughts is essential The "10 meters at a time" mindset that Navy SEALs use under pressure A sneak peek into a possible future faith-based coaching experience and men's group My friends, life is going to test all of us. There will be seasons of stress, uncertainty, pressure, heartbreak, and challenge. But you do NOT have to carry every burden alone. Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is slow down, pray, breathe deeply, trust God, and focus on the next 10 meters in front of you. This episode is a reminder that "True Strength" isn't just about physical toughness. It's about faith. It's about discipline. It's about protecting your mindset, staying anchored in truth, and continuing to pursue purpose and fulfillment over empty achievement. Stressed? How to Reset a Fried Nervous System | Ep. 478

Are you exhausted… but still can't slow your mind down? Are you showing up, grinding, training, working hard, trying to do all the right things… but deep down, you still feel OFF? In this week's episode of the Todd Durkin IMPACT SHOW, I'm speaking straight from experience as I know many people are dealing with a ton right now: stress, overwhelm, anxiety, and a nervous system that's completely fried. My friends, this episode is not just about training harder or "getting your mind right." It's about learning how to recover, reset, and reclaim your energy so you can start feeling like YOU again. If you've been feeling wired and tired, this episode may be exactly what your body, mind, and soul need today. Here's what I'm breaking down in this episode: Why chronic stress is silently sabotaging your energy, health, recovery, and performance The connection between cortisol, inflammation, poor sleep, anxiety, and fat loss What it really means to have a dysregulated nervous system Why you feel exhausted and anxious at the same time How fight-or-flight mode impacts your body, mind, and emotions Why you can't outwork chronic stress with more hustle The importance of intentional recovery and "mellow yellow" time My favorite recovery tools including sauna, cold plunge, compression boots, massage therapy, red light therapy, walks, breath work, and stillness How to shift from stress mode into true recovery mode My simple recovery protocol you can start implementing immediately The power of better sleep habits and my 3-2-1 nighttime recovery routine Why recovery is one of the most important performance strategies you can prioritize right now My friends, hear me on this… you do NOT need to do more right now. You need to recover better. And when you begin to prioritize your recovery, everything changes. Your energy changes. Your mindset changes. Your performance changes. Your outlook changes. And most importantly, you start to get your LIFE back again. If this episode speaks to you, please share it with someone who may need this message today. My Top 12 Mentors (Part 2) | Ep. 477

This week we dive into my last 8 mentors and all they have meant to me. This one is deep and has a lot of lessons and wisdom embedded in it. These people have greatly impacted my life on many levels. This includes lessons from Robin Sharma, Pastor Miles McPherson, Dave Ramsey, Ali Brown, LaDainian Tomlinsion, Drew Brees, and both my mother and father. Some of the lessons included in Part 2 of this series on Mentorship includes: My top lessons from Dave Ramsey on business, money, and life. Woah! Ali Brown and how her workshop in 2006, which came at a really challenging time, literally changed my life. Robin Sharma, and how this long-time mentor has taught me a lot, not only on business, but by living with heart, being guided by passion & purpose, and serving people unequivocally. Pastor Miles McPherson and how his discipleship over 28-years has significantly impacted my faith development and the many lessons I have learned. Drew Brees and LaDaianian Tomlinson used to train together with me. While I trained them undeniably hard, they have also taught me a few lessons on their journey of both becoming "Hall-of-Famers." A Tribute to My Great Friend Joe Pangelinan: Mindset, Fight, & Legacy | Ep. 475

This week's episode is a very special one… and an emotional one for me. My great friend Joe Pangelinan, a 2-time guest on the podcast (Ep. 219 & Ep. 352), unfortunately passed away last week (April 14th, 2026) after his valiant fight and courageous battle with Stage-IV lung cancer. Therefore, to honor his legacy and life, I am not only resharing one of my favorite conversations with Joe, I share some deep thoughts & lessons in the beginning and end of this episode to make it tremendously personal and special. I've known Joe since 1998. He was there in the early days, and he even helped name my first gym, Fitness Quest 10. He's been a brother to me in every sense of the word. And while this conversation was originally recorded during the fight of his life, what you're about to hear is so much more than a story about cancer—it's about how to live.  Joe was originally diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer on December 31st, 2020. What he thought was walking pneumonia turned into a diagnosis that had already spread throughout his body. It didn't make sense. A healthy, vibrant, fit, non-smoker… and yet, there he was, in the fight of his life. But what will hit you most isn't the diagnosis—it's his mindset. This conversation we had is raw, real, and deeply human. You'll laugh. You might cry. And you will absolutely walk away with a renewed sense of gratitude, perspective, and purpose. Here's what you'll learn in this episode: The story behind how Fitness Quest 10 got its name and Joe's role in it A hilarious behind-the-scenes story from Joe's days as a D1 wrestler at Cal Poly, including a run-in with Chuck Liddell Joe's cancer journey and what happened on that life-changing New Year's Eve The emotional rollercoaster after diagnosis—and how he chose to respond What it means to "fight to be on the tail end" and hold onto hope The life lessons Joe learned while staring adversity in the face How a wrestler's mentality shaped his grit, resilience, and refusal to quit The blessings, gratitude, and perspective that defined his final chapter What IMPACT truly means—and the legacy Joe wanted to leave behind This episode is more than a conversation—it's a reminder. A reminder to not live in fear. A reminder to double down on gratitude. A reminder to keep fighting, no matter what battle you're in. Joe's life and legacy will continue to impact me—and I know it will impact you too. Please do me a favor…Hug someone tight this week and don't wait to say, "I'm sorry," "I forgive you" or "I love you." And in honor of Joe's legacy, please share this episode with your following or on your social media. Or share it with anyone who is going through a difficult time right now and needs some perspective on life right now. Discouraged or Depressed? Or Encouraged & Inspired? Flip the Switch & Get Your Mind Right | Ep. 474

I had a conversation with Pastor David Jeremiah last week that spurred on this episode of being discouraged or depressed OR encouraged and inspired. "Dr. J" asked if I ever get discouraged or depressed and I thought about it and then answered him. Truth is, even the strongest among us—the leaders, the parents, the entrepreneurs, the coaches—the ones everyone looks at and says, "they've got it all together"… they still go through seasons where they feel tired, heavy, or even discouraged. And maybe that's you right now. You're showing up. You're producing. You're winning on the outside. But inside? You're fighting for your joy, happiness, peace, fulfillment…heck, maybe even your purpose. If that's you, this episode is for YOU. Because here's the truth I need you to hear loud and clear: you may be in a cave—but you are NOT meant to stay there. Today, we're flipping the switch. We're talking about the difference between discouragement and inspiration—and how to move from one to the other starting right now. What You'll Learn in This Episode: Why even high-performers and winners experience discouragement (and why it's human, not weakness) The 5 biggest reasons people feel discouraged: o Exhaustion creates distortion o Isolation magnifies pain o Fear of the future drains faith o Comparison steals your joy o Losing sight of purpose drains your soul How a tired mind tells false stories—and how to take control of your narrative Why rest, recovery, and renewal are not optional—they're essential The power of rewriting the story in your mind to change your life What courage really means (hint: it's not the absence of fear) What inspiration truly is—and how to reconnect to it daily 5 practical ways to shift from being discouraged to being encouraged and inspired: o Refill yourself before you react o Rewrite your internal script o Get around the right people (get around FIRE!) o Take one bold action o Practice gratitude as a discipline If you're feeling discouraged right now, hear me—this is not the end of your story, it's just a chapter, a season, a test, a proving ground that's preparing you for what's next. The cave is not your destination; it's where clarity returns, where strength gets renewed, and where the whispers you need to hear become loud enough to guide your next step. Your breakdown may become your biggest breakthrough, your pain may become your platform, and your test may become your testimony. So don't stay down—get up, refuel your body and spirit, reconnect with the right people, rewrite the story you're telling yourself, and take that next step forward with courage and faith. Because discouragement may knock on your door, but it does not get to own your house. Now go live inspired, step into your purpose, and as always—train hard, eat right, live inspired, and go create IMPACT.   P.S Todd Durkin 3.5 Day Mentorship…SIGN-UP NOW!
