    120. Willie Pickton Part 2 of 2

Jamie and Kristy return for part two of their Willie Pickton series, recapping his Port Coquitlam pig farm, Piggy’s Palace parties, and the failed attempted-murder case involving survivor Sandra Gail Ringwald. They discuss decades of missing women from Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside and highlight several victims’ backgrounds, including Andrea Jones-Berry, Serena Abbotsway, Marnie Fry, Georgina Faith Pappin, Mona Lee Wilson, and Brenda Ann Wolfe. The episode covers how a tip about illegal firearms led to a search warrant, discovery of victims’ belongings and human remains, and an undercover jail confession in which Pickton claimed 49 victims. They describe key witnesses and testimony, the massive forensic search, Pickton’s 2007 conviction for six second-degree murders, the staying of other charges, his 2024 death in prison, and ongoing speculation that he had help. 119. Systemic Failures, The Death Penalty, & Christa Pike

We’re coming at you midweek with a crucial episode because our good friend David Keck is back in the SWAC studio! For those of you who dig way back into our archives, you know David is from Knoxville, Tennessee—where major, historic news just broke. In 1995, 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer was tragically murdered in Knoxville by 18-year-old Christa Pike, along with Tadaryl Shipp (17) and Shadolla Peterson (18). Christa Pike went on to become the youngest woman sentenced to death in modern U.S. history. Fast forward 30 years to right now: Tennessee set Krista Pike’s execution for late 2026. What was supposed to be the state's first execution of a woman in two centuries turned into a horrific, botched medical disaster involving failed IV lines, third-degree chemical burns, and a emergency transport to Vanderbilt ICU. #ChristaPike #TrueCrime #KnoxvilleTN #SpeculatingWildlyAboutCrime #BotchedExecution #TennesseeNews #TrueCrimeCommunity #DeathRow #ColleenSlemmer #SWAC #TrueCrimePodcast #JusticeSystem #TrueCrimeDiscussion In this episode, Jamie, Christy, and David dive deep into: ● The 1995 Knoxville Job Corps murder and the real story behind Colleen Slemmer. ● Why Krista received the death penalty while her 17-year-old co-defendant got life. ● The legal gray area of childhood trauma, bipolar disorder, and mitigation evidence in court. ● The horrifying details of the botched lethal injection attempts in Nashville and the sudden resignation of the executioner. ● Can a broken judicial system ever truly offer rehabilitation, or is it purely retributive? 118. SWAC Gets Serial- Willie Pickton (Part 1 of 2)

Jamie and Kristy introduce a new “SWAC Gets Serial” episode of Speculating Wildly About Crime (with a brief entertainment-only disclaimer and a Patreon shout-out to Cheryl) and begin Part 1 of their coverage of Canadian serial killer Robert William Pickton. Kristy discusses insights from the book On the Farm by Stevie Cameron and explains how women—many sex workers and drug-addicted—vanished from Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside while warnings about Pickton and his farm went unaddressed, highlighting RCMP failures and victim stigma. The episode covers Pickton’s upbringing on a filthy Port Coquitlam pig farm, family dynamics, and an incident where a hit-and-run victim drowned after being dragged into a ditch. They describe the brothers’ later “Piggy’s Palace Good Time Society” parties and Pickton’s method of luring vulnerable women to the farm, ending with the 1997 assault of Sandra Gail Ringwald and how charges were dropped after threats. Kristy previews that Part 2 will cover the investigation, arrests, and trial. 117. SWAC Unhinged- The Valley Edition

Jamie and Kristy take a break from true crime with “SWAC Unhinged: Valley Edition,” joined by special guest David Keck from the Surviving ISH podcast, to discuss Bravo’s The Valley as a spinoff of Vanderpump Rules (itself a spinoff of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills). They share how their different Bravo entry points shaped their reactions, debate how Season 1 leaned too heavily on kids as storylines, and highlight why Jasmine stood out in emotional and important moments. The trio names favorite and least favorite cast members (with strong feelings about Jax), then counts down memorable moments from Seasons 1–3, including Big Bear drama, Schwartz and Lala one-liners, Jesse and Michelle’s breakup, Zach’s petty humor, and Kristen and Luke’s engagement, before teasing a deeper follow-up on heavier themes covered on Surviving ISH. 116. Amy Bradley Revisited- With Special Guest Kevin Hall

Jamie and Kristy are joined by Kevin from the Midnight Mystery Archive & The Halls of Mediocrity Podcasts to revisit the 1998 disappearance of 23-year-old Amy Lynn Bradley from Royal Caribbean’s Rhapsody of the Seas. They discuss Kevin’s extensive, interview-driven coverage and critique how the cruise line and investigators handled the case, including delayed announcements, a lack of protocols, room cleaning, and limited evidence preservation before the FBI arrived. The conversation reviews key timeline points from Amy’s last known movements, debates the low likelihood of an overboard scenario, and highlights multiple post-disappearance sightings (including Lori and Crystal’s elevator account, Elizabeth Lewis at the Viking Lounge, Bill Hefner, Dave Carmichael, and Judy Ovira in Barbados connected to the “Jaz” photo). They examine suspect Alister Douglas’s alleged timeline inconsistencies, and urge tips be submitted via amybradleyismissing.com. 115. John McAfee Part 2 of 2

Jamie and Kristy continue the John McAfee story after the 2012 murder of his neighbor Gregory Faull in Belize, where McAfee was a person of interest but never formally charged amid limited investigative resources. They cover McAfee’s elaborate efforts to flee and deceive authorities, including disguises, a body double, a photo that revealed his location via coordinates, an illegal boat trip to Guatemala, an arrest, and a faked heart attack that helped him avoid immediate deportation. Back in the U.S., he returned to drugs and sex workers, met and later married Janice, made a notorious “uninstall McAfee” video, was arrested for a DUI in 2015, and ran for president in 2016. The episode culminates in his 2019 tax-evasion trouble, flight by yacht, arrest in Spain in 2020, and reported suicide in a Spanish prison in June 2021—alongside speculation fueled by a claim that he called someone after his death saying he faked it. 114. John McAfee Part 1 of 2

Jamie and Kristy cover the early life and escalating chaos of John McAfee, founder of McAfee Antivirus, from his abusive childhood and rumored lies about his father’s death to his rapid rise in the tech world, creation of antivirus software after the Brain virus, and becoming wealthy before selling his shares for $100 million. After divorcing and leaving his family, McAfee’s life spirals into drugs, reckless spending, and legal trouble, leading him to relocate to Belize in 2008, where he lives lavishly, pursues questionable ventures, and grows increasingly paranoid and armed. After McAfee’s nine dogs are poisoned, his neighbor Greg Faull is found murdered with a close-range gunshot and taser marks, and McAfee becomes the prime suspect amid an unsolved investigation. Tune in next week for Part 2 as the story continues with McAfee on the run and more developments.
