Murderer Escapes Prison: Danilo Cavalcante *ON CAMERA*
Just last month, on August 31, 2023, Danilo Cavalcante escaped the Chester County Prison in Pennsylvania after being charged with the first-degree murder of his ex-girlfriend using a butterknife. Murder or Mercy? The Complicated Truth of Gypsy Rose Blanchard
In this episode, we delve deep into the twisted narrative of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, a young woman who was the centerpiece of a true crime story that shook America to its core. As a victim of Munchausen by Proxy Syndrome (MBPS), Gypsy's life was a chaotic and harrowing tale of deceit, love, manipulation, and, ultimately, murder. Join Sydney Overbay and her father, Tony Overbay, LMFT, as they explore the complex psychological elements of this case and discuss the unexpected plot twists that left everyone stunned.
The Stalking of Tatiana Tarasoff
Sydney and Tony discuss the landmark case of Tarasoff v. Regents of the University of California. The California Supreme Court ruled that mental health professionals have a duty to protect potential victims when their patients pose a serious threat of violence. The case arose from the tragic murder of Tatiana Tarasoff, a former university counseling center patient killed. Despite warnings from one of the center's therapists that the patient posed a serious threat to Tarasoff, the center did not take action to warn or protect her. The court's decision established a legal precedent that has had far-reaching implications for the practice of mental health and the protection of public safety.
The Disappearance and Dismemberment of Abby Choi
Abby Choi, a model, influencer, and mother of four, was discovered just last February, cooked into a pot of soup at the hands of her very own relatives. Sydney Overbay, CD (College Dropout), and Tony Overbay, LMFT (licensed marriage and family therapist), will break down what we know about the case along with a therapist's take on what potentially could have been going on in the minds, and lives of those who took her life.
