Best Radio Show
No doubt Big Jay and Soder are the stars but Lou dawg, Black Lou, Jacob and Christine’s laugh just completes the show
Big Jay's review of the Genesis concert he went to recently
had me snorting and hacking with congested laughter.
I've been a Genesis fan for about 40 years, I've seen them live,
I like their prog stuff, their pop stuff, the solo stuff.
But the videos I've seen of the latest tour have been depressing--
and a bit creepy, with Phil's giant tired face looming over the crowd
like some defeated, deflating Oz figure.
He was always so jolly and English and energetic--he flew in the Concorde and played both
Live Aid shows. And got to jam with Led Zeppelin. The guy secretly owned the 80s, along with
Lionel Richie and Huey Lewis.
Jay's review was exactly how I imagined the current tour to be,
and I feel less bad about feeling bad about it.
I'm much more excited to be seeing Steve Hackett's next tour--
he does old Genesis stuff, but he does it well. And in the right key.
As always, The Bonfire rocks. Much love to Jay, Dan, Christine, Jacob,
the Lous, etc. Crackle crackle.
