Get to the root of emotional issues and learn the best way to relate to yourself and others by honoring your personal boundaries and making decisions that are in alignment with what's most important to you.
This is not a "common-sense" personal growth and development show. You won't be told to think positively or create affirmations. The Overwhelmed Brain is about accessing that deeper mental and emotional strength inside you so that you can decrease or even eliminate old fears and evolve into the person you want to be.
Learn what your parents or caretakers never taught you about emotional wellness and creating strong, non-toxic bonds with others.
If you want the exact instructions that will help improve your life, you're in the right place.

When bad things keep happening to you
Changing how you respond to and cope with challenges can improve your relationships and life overall. When you're getting the same, bad results over and over again, it might be time for a new perspective to help you create better outcomes.
-
Asserting yourself without getting aggressive
Asserting yourself is an act of self-love, not aggression. It's about recognizing your worth and preventing future conflicts. Don't let guilt from past experiences hold you back from showing that you are worthy of standing up for.
-
Is it possible to patch things up with family who won't let go of the past?
What happens when you can't get along with someone because no matter how much patching up you think you've done, it's still not enough? Is there an end to this process? Will they ever want to forgive and forget?
-
Maintaining a healthy relationship with your therapist, coach, or healer
When you get a therapist, coach, or healer, you can run into what might be called a "human" experience - the kind of experience where the people-helpers in our life might have some of their own stuff to deal with, and they intentionally or unintentionally bring that stuff into the professional environment. When that happens, can their help still be effective? Should you continue working with them? Is there a point where you need to move on? It's a great question and is definitely worth exploring.

The lessons that can change your life for the better
Life brings us huge lessons. We can learn and grow from them, or we can allow them to hold us back. Some lessons, however, were definitely worth the hardship - especially ones that change life for the better.

When you're feeling judgmental and critical of those you love
I once called judgment "the ultimate relationship destroyer." Judgmental and critical behavior toward those you love will make them love you less. It's a fact. It's undeniable. And if you want to keep people in your life, it's important to understand what breaks down what could be a great connection to someone you love.

Great helpful tips!
Love the tips and Paul your voice is very soothing! You reference your podcasts and programs in your show. It would be great to see links in the show notes to your resources! Thank you!
Great show
I really enjoy listening to this podcast and Paul’s insights- sometimes I fall asleep because it’s also relaxing! So clear and helpful I am going thru a beak up after 7 years in a codependent relationship where I am the highly functioning giver - I am sad bc I felt again in my childhood trap it’s time to refocus my energies
First impressions
I’m at a pivotal place in my development, specifically working toward emotional maturity and a more consistent sense of overall well being. I’m deep into the hard stuff, those issues that have been there for decades. Based on the podcast description I felt like this would be start.
I listened to the latest episode while out on my daily walk and found it enjoyable to listen to, easy on the ears, informative and especially personal. The content and delivery resonated with me, so much so, that I became suspicious that he had managed to spy my journals.
I’m looking forward to more.
