Previously, Dr. Moore served as president of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention. In 2021, he resigned after years of sustained criticism and threats over his public stance on a number of issues, including his criticism of President Donald Trump during the 2016 election, his comments on race and immigration, and his advocacy for addressing sexual abuse within the SBC. He's a courageous man whom I deeply respect and admire.
