Ep #162: Admiration as a Weight Loss Tool

Ep #162: Admiration as a Weight Loss Tool

Today, I will share with you why you should take some time to contemplate admiration. I realized that as a child, it was common for me to admire actors, Olympians, and other high achievers. Even as a medical student, I would admire residents and attendings, and would look up to how easily they did this or that thing. And then eventually I started seeing them as humans, just like myself, and I started wondering what I could gain from revisiting admiration.

Ep #161: Why You Aren’t Following Your Eating Plan

Ep #161: Why You Aren’t Following Your Eating Plan

Today I’m going to share with you why you are not following your eating plan—even if you are goal-oriented and usually meet or exceed every single deadline. For the longest time in my own personal weight loss journey, I tried to build better systems, like organizing my recipes, improving my grocery shopping, and even having our nanny cook our dinners. Eventually, I realized that I couldn’t action my way out of my overeating problem because something deeper was going on.

Ep #159: Overeating As a Feminist Issue

Ep #159: Overeating As a Feminist Issue

Today, I’m going to share with you a new perspective on how to think about overeating. For years, women have been shamed for being overweight—and conversely taught that we should be able to overeat. I believe that when we as women don’t lose weight because we are afraid or think that we can’t do it, we are not only holding ourselves back, but we are also holding other women back.

Great podcast!

I’m super behind (currently on episode 48) but I listen to this during my morning commute and it’s so helpful for mindwork surrounding weight loss. I’ve even shared the thought model with friends and family when they’re working through other problems. Keep the great content coming!

Love my friend Katrina!

This is my favorite podcast and I am an avid podcast listener. Katrina keeps me company on my way to the gym in the morning before work and it’s the main reason I get up. Everyday I think “I don’t want to get up” and then I think- as Katrina taught me- “That’s ok. I said I’d get up and go to the gym so I’m gonna do it.” And then I get up! It’s amazing what this thought work has done for me. I’ve lost 12 pounds listening to this podcast and it’s more than I’ve ever lost in my life. Thank you!
