The Beauty of Knowledge with The INKEY List CEO and Co-Founder, Colette Laxton

Any investment in knowledge pays interest – even (and especially) when it comes to the beauty industry. Frustrated by the lack of transparency and education in the skincare industry, Colette Laxton, saw a clear gap in the market for a skincare brand that actually informed their customers about what they were buying. Having seen platforms full of communities that were turning to each other through the confusion about products, ingredients, and what brands were telling them, Colette alongside her co-founder Mark, knew that knowledge needed to be at the heart of their business. For this episode of WorkParty I sit down with The INKEY List co-founder, Colette Laxton to dive into their information-driven mission and the challenges of creating a beauty brand while simultaneously educating their customer. Influence Is Power: How Journalist Noor Tagouri Became a Voice of Our Generation

Influence Is Power: How Journalist Noor Tagouri Became a Voice of Our Generation

Noor Tagouri has the eyes and ears of our generation at her fingertips. At only 27 years old, the Libyan-American journalist, producer, and touring speaker has earned international recognition as one of new media’s most impactful voices by encouraging others to stand up, speak out, and be themselves. With an engaged community totaling over two million followers, Noor is using storytelling to highlight subcultures and share the perspectives of marginalized people with the world. She famously put U.S. sex trafficking under the microscope in her documentary and subsequent podcast series “Sold in America,” which received a Gracies Award in 2019 for Best Investigative Series. Known as “Podcast Noor," she’s embarked on a podcast interview series under her own production company At Your Service (AYS), to go beyond the highlight reel and delve into the mindsets of some of the world’s most fascinating people. In this episode of WorkParty, I have the pleasure of sitting down with the award-winning journalist to learn about her journey in becoming a pioneering voice of our generation, how she faces the hard conversations, and why you too should commit to speaking your truth. Spread the Love: How Tara Ijai Launched a Business Around a Social Mission

Spread the Love: How Tara Ijai Launched a Business Around a Social Mission

    Presented by Mastercard
Life is all about perspective. Change it, and the world around you will start to change, too. Today’s guest, Tara Ijai, can certainly attest to this. As an American who converted to Islam later in life, she witnessed firsthand how her faith choice led others to treat her with intolerance and hate. Disheartened, she resorted to wearing a pair of heart-shaped glasses that she hoped would act as a shield against the negativity going on in the world around her. Turns out, the glasses had quite the effect. Her new fashion statement was met with kindness wherever she went. So much so, that it shifted her perspective. Her confidence was back, and she started to look forward to venturing out and interacting with strangers. She wanted to share this experience with others so they too could find positivity in times of strife. Thus, the Love Glasses Revolution was born. Before she knew it, Tara was manufacturing and selling her own heart-shaped glasses designs, and encouraging others to also choose love. The Love Glasses community—who she affectionately calls love rebels—has greatly expanded since then. Now thousands strong, her followers come from all walks of life, united by the shared mission to spread empathy, welcome diversity, and make the world a better place. Stay tuned to learn how the self-proclaimed love activist inspired a movement around acceptance and how you too can launch a business around a social mission. How to Leverage Podcasting to Build Your Brand With Farnoosh Torabi

Farnoosh Torabi is on a mission to help all of us live our richest, most fulfilling lives. The author of three best-selling books—You’re So Money, Psych Yourself Rich, and When She Makes More—and the host of the top-rated podcast So Money, Farnoosh aims to make money talk less “icky” and more Instagrammable. Sound familiar?  While feasting on canned tuna and $5 footlong Subway sandwiches, Farnoosh slowly climbed out of her debt in the most expensive city in the country. So, how did she do it? Tune in to our conversation with the entrepreneur, live from Create & Cultivate's Digital Summer Camp and moderated by Sacha Strebe, to learn how she dug her way out of debt, leveraged a podcast to build a successful brand, and more. How to Disrupt an Outdated Industry With Saundra Pelletier, CEO of Evofem

How to Disrupt an Outdated Industry With Saundra Pelletier, CEO of Evofem

This episode is brought to you by Phexxi® (lactic acid, citric acid, and potassium bitartrate) Vaginal Gel 1.8%, 1%, 0.4%, which is an FDA-approved, hormone-free,  prescription birth control used only before sex. Phexxi works to maintain the  vaginal pH level to prevent pregnancy and you only use it when you need it! Be  sure to tell your healthcare provider if you have a recent history of 3 or more UTIs  per year. Learn more, including all risks at Phexxi.com.
Disrupting an industry is no easy task. Just ask Saundra Pelletier. As the CEO of the  biopharmaceutical company Evofem, she’s making major moves in a multi-billion dollar market that hasn’t been disrupted in nearly 30 years: the contraceptive  industry. Despite the fact that the global contraceptive market size was valued at  $22 billion in 2019 and is projected to reach over $30 billion by 2027, there has  been little innovation in the space since the 90s. But Saundra is working to change  that at Evofem. The company’s latest product Phexxi, a prescription contraceptive  gel, is a hormone-free option that allows women to be in control of their sexual  and reproductive health. But Saundra’s not just at the forefront of disrupting the  contraceptive industry on the pharmaceutical side. She’s also advocating for  change in the space via the nonprofit sector as the co-founder of WomanCare Global, a nonprofit provider of health care products to women around the world.  In this episode of WorkParty, we sit down with Saundra to talk about her  impressive career, her commitment to giving women access to more choices, and  her role as a mentor for a new generation of women coming up behind her.

Get pumped on girl power!

I was sceptical about this podcast at first, I thought it was going to be a podcast catered to the sorority type girl who is all social no grit. However, I’ve been so impressed with the content that the team at create and cultivate has produced. After each episode I feel empowered to see my own potential and go after the things that I really want in life and in my career. I think work party has a very strong vision and they are executing on that vision in every episode. Keep it up!
