The founders of WeWork thought they were on the brink of making history. The company was valued at $47 billion dollars, it was ready for a huge IPO, and its charismatic CEO Adam Neumann thought they were going to change the world. Adam had a prophet-like vision for WeWork that he sold to some of the world’s savviest investors -- but did his vision ever match the company's reality?
Hosted by David Brown of the hit podcast Business Wars (and former host of NPR's Marketplace), WeCrashed is a six-part series about the rise and fall of WeWork. It’s a story of hope and hubris, big money and bigger screwups, and the lengths people will go to chase “unicorns.”

Introducing: Harsh Reality - The Story of Miriam Rivera

Introducing: Harsh Reality - The Story of Miriam Rivera

It was supposed to be a reality show with a twist. In a sun-drenched villa in Ibiza, six hot guys compete for a cash prize and for the love of the beautiful and mysterious Miriam. It’s meant to be her big break: the moment she becomes the superstar she was born to be. But this is the era of “cruel reality TV” and the show producers have a different goal: they want to surprise the men with the fact that Miriam is trans. A new six-episode investigative series from Wondery, the makers of The Shrink Next Door and The Apology Line, and from Novel, HARSH REALITY is the story about love, lies, reality TV and a woman before her time: Miriam Rivera. Written by Agnes Borinsky and hosted by Trace Lysette.

The series also explores Les Wexner, the private man who has been at the head of the company for over 35 years, and his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Co-hosted by Vanessa Grigoriadis and Justine Harman, Fallen Angel is a production and direction of C13Originals, a Cadence13 studio, and Campside Media.

Learned so much

I’m a true crime nut but love Wondery so I tried this one out (also thanks to Things I Bought and Liked on Instagram sharing it). It was just as interesting as any true crime story and helped see another side of a Ponzi scheme. Instead of just the narcissism and greed of Madoff, this showed how an org can be fun and community building and a great startup but still have those horrible practices.

Show all sides

We are the generation that shows the end result, without the steps involved to get there. I’ve been a purveyor of failure and success. The “fake it until you make it” mindset only gets people so far. Money is great but HOW you get the money and WHAT you do with it is the true success...or the curse. I think we wil see a lot of both for the next decade. I hope we learn great lessons along the way.

Can’t wait for Hulu documentary

Another ‘fake it til you make it’ story like Theranos and Fyre Festival!
